AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I don't think we would have made it - injuries to Day and Frost happened at the wrong time and as good as the depth players performed the squad wasn't strong enough across the park to absorb that.Still very pissed about the Port game as I'd be well and truly backing us against the Lions at the G. With that said I'd be much less confident of beating Swans at the SCG – so we may still not have made it
Sharks have more than twice the members of the suns…it was a crazy decision. And in doing so they created a monster.
What's done is done we can't change it, but it makes my blood boil at the huge missed opportunity.
I got my GF seat.
Go Fages!
Go Lions!
funny that, they started the game like their minds were in it - maybe it didn't sink in til the half time breakGeelong muppets at work claiming the playing group weren’t mentally in it after seeing Steven King collapse at training.
Give it a rinse
Good. Why on earth was it ever moved?
Because of the "big build" taking up 3/4 of the original routeGood. Why on earth was it ever moved?

Because of the public holiday.
Umps are dumb. They just go with the easiest optionI feel like midfielders aren't getting any better, but every year these days seems to either have someone breaking the record for Brownlow votes or you have multiple scoring around 30.
I bet a forward could have a 100 goal year and they would still struggle to finish top ten in the Brownlow.Umps are dumb. They just go with the easiest option
Miles off it.Cripps the new C.Judd.
Worthy winner but no way that was close to the greatest individual season in history.
i wonder if this is the year that will bring about a brief from the AFL for umps to consider giving votes to players other than midfieldersI bet a forward could have a 100 goal year and they would still struggle to finish top ten in the Brownlow.
I honestly wonder how much effort the umps are putting into awarding the votes, they have really phoned it in the last five years or so.
Sure Cripps is a star but to say he is that much better than the rest of the competition which the umps are indicating by their voting just seems ridiculous to me TBH.
Or just take the voting off them completely, the award is a joke because of themi wonder if this is the year that will bring about a brief from the AFL for umps to consider giving votes to players other than midfielders

Any alternative is also brokenThe easiest Brownlow fix for me is not giving the umpires the player stats before they make their vote. That way forwards and defenders who’ve had an impact on the game won’t get ignored.
Cripps and Daicos were polling votes in games where their possession count was in the teens, disposal efficiency of 14% and getting subbed out mid game through injury, whilst Bontepelli had games where he had 30+ touches, 10 coaches votes and didn’t get anything. The easiest Brownlow fix for me is not giving the umpires the player stats before they make their vote.
