I feel like the only finals game (in terms of pressure) was.... 🥁.... Port trying to save Hinkley's job against us.

Every other game had a distinct lack of pressure they we have come to expect in finals. It might be more exemplified because the GF the pressure was so one sided.

Can't believe King gave junk-time Parker votes for BOG.

He was responsible for Andrews who was a brick wall in the first half intercepting everything with Starcevich.

3 Junk time goals isn't vote worthy in a 10 goal shellacking.

Vintage downhill skier performance from Parker.

You have to look deeper into David's thinking. Laying the softennig blows if he happens to find his way to Arden street and is a failure.

True in and under, smaller inside mids are crucial and Swans don't have any. Adams is one who could've provided that first hands at clearances type player that would've at least half some contests but without it, Neale and Ash went to town on them.
On that, Grundy played quite well, too. But had no support from his mids.

That Lions premiership really does show you that the game is played above the shoulders.

They were 40pts down against the Giants, looked gone. Almost the same story against the Cats, although not the same margin to claw back.
They found that 5% and it was enough to have them steamroll the Giants at home.

People will bang on about how they’re going to go back to back, like they do with every premier, but that game just proves that if any side lifts the foot off the pedal they will get swallowed up.
Sounds like Hodge was helping out a bit throughout the week at the Lions with their mindset.

Horse doesn't rate the contested ball or the clearance. Doesn't rate ball winning mids.

Everytime it bites him on the arse.

Just when you thought King couldn't look any more clueless it sounds like he has.

Where was this ?

In fairness to King, I only realized after the fact that this is based off quarter by quarter voting so I guess you could argue that Parker could get a vote for his downhill junk time vote but what a stupid system.

Only one game to talk about, need to fill in the same amount of air time.

It's an ideal system for Parker in big games, he can get votes when he comes into his own ......when the game is over .

We've got the new Ron Barassi Medal now...Surely the AFL will soon be minting The Gary Rohan Medal for such performances?

Just on King's comment, he said " Swans by 6 to 8 goals" in which the fox footy guy printed, 68 points!! Then King just said just leave it as it is in a dismissive kinda way. That's actually exactly what happened.

So it was 8 goals not 11 goals? Well, that changes everything!

Did he? **** he is an absolute muppet that bloke.

Stop it man, Selwood was clearly a great captain and leader.

I think Neal has played the game at a much higher level than Selwood ever could though.

When a guy is that slick you tend not to notice it as much as the less co-ordinated, slower, bash and crash types.

That latter is the better leader, heart like a lion during the game. But his ability doesn't scrape Neal's.

Selwood did not handle losing very well also, lots of center stage pouting in 2013 etc.

The problem with Neal is he makes things very few can do look very easy. That's always been the measure of the greats imo. That it's not always done on struggle street in a lather of sweat.

Sicily is like this too.

These are guys who are just so good it doesn't look like a battle for them. They aren't going to win most courageous awards etc. Shit they do often gets overlooked because the uneducated (even commentators) often don't notice it.

To suggest that Neal didn't stand up a lead by example in a way that Selwood even in his peak years could only have dreamed of, is to underplay the former's 2024 final series.

Neal was a monster player in the GF. The 18 contested and 35 total disposals tell you that.

And the game was still a contest until mid way through the second quarter blitz. Hindsight is 20/20. That game was a long way from over till Sydney completely capitulated late in the first half.

It was a scoreboard contest till then, as we know sydney can do comebacks. But the same old Sydney vibes were there from the start. Easy to pick.

I remember 2014 they executed a few goals well early when they got some space to play.

They didn't even make it through a whole quarter against us I felt back in 2014. We dominated them pretty comprehensively once our run started. It never let up at all.

It was a similar start though. They were in that game for a little bit. We steamrolled them in the second.

This time they hung around longer I felt. Early on too, they looked to be playing it on their terms even.

The weird thing about Sydney 'vibes' was as they came out, one of their players dropped an F-bomb right in front of the camera and just sounded like a complete flog.

He was trying to pump the team up. But it was major league douche stuff/cringe. That gave me a bad vibe.

They have a problem culturally. Plenty of people have said that or words to that effect.

But I didn't see the flag as early as you did this year.
