On his day he's proven to be better than Grian Myers, Ben Ainsworth, Lachie Schultz, Jack Martin, Cody Weightman, Lincoln Mcarthy; I could keep listing them. And bring up the stats to back it up.

I'm going to die on this hill. Billings is a very good player and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know footy.
Well, he got a kick to add to his 1 handball today, but it just went in between 3 Sydney players. Based on his output today we were lucky to get whatever pick the Dees gave us for him.

It wasn't Billings fault the Dees lost tonight but he didn't help, he still goes missing when the whips are cracking and had very little impact.

We did the right thing moving him on, he wouldn't be in our best 22 and I doubt he will be in the Dees best 22 either after that performance.

He did the Dunstan thing funnily enough at the same club.

Enter interstate, do SFA for most of the match, start off with handballs as not up to tempo at all and you don't really know or gel with your teammates, maybe get seen once more and then relegated to the VFL.

Who knew Newnes and Acres would be the best 2 out of those 4 that had longevity at other clubs.

Goodwin is a bigger problem for the Dees than Billings, he got lucky with their premiership win in 2021 but he is getting found out now.

With all the talent on their list they should be playing better football, they look directionless. he must be getting coaching tips from Richo.

The Dees remind me a lot of how we played under Richo, a lot of effort going nowhere with little reward on the scoreboard.

No where near it. Like playing with one less out there.

Billings on our list for another two years would’ve been criminal
He is a front runner.

Would have looked better had he started the game when Melbourne were way on top but couldn’t kick straight.

Billings isn’t afl standard anymore. Looks so far off it

Was always a fan of Billings early on and I think it’s pretty sad what he’s become.
Was a weird choice for Sub. I think your sub needs to be an impact player and let’s face it Billings is not an impact player.
Next week Billings needs to start in the 22 and be that safe accumulating half forward or not in the side at all.
Worst sub ever.

Good private school boy player, lacks the edge needed to be a good senior AFL player.

Like Jack Watts, he had all the attributes to be the next Nick Riewoldt but he had all the hardness and heart of Cale Morton.

Billings would have fitted right in with the rest of the Melbourne players back then but they aren't as soft as they used to be.

Reckon our current forward line would struggle to contain Blakey.

I would put Mitch Owens on him, not only would he contain Blakey, Blakey would struggle to contain him.

Watched half the game and turned it off it hurts your eyes 👀

Will watch and go to all Saints games and that’s it

And watch the storm

It's a weird lead in to footy this year. I hate watching Carlton v Richmond every year but it was the start of the season and then it was away. This stupid staggered start so that the ladder doesn't even mean anything for ages is a stupid idea and it feels like it should still be summer.

I'm much less invested in footy for some reason this year. There seems no hype around it. The AFL seem to think they have to **** around with a perfectly good product every year to justify their wages.

I went out so didn't watch it but people talking about it were all saying how shitful the match was. Perhaps there will be a few teams worth watching more than others. I'm looking forward to seeing what Lyon can do second year in and how we use our new pace though.

Billings, Gresh and Coff (3x first rounders and about $1.5 - 2million a year) was a lot of ‘high end’ talent and ‘potential’ to see walk out the door in one off season. Its the type of decision making that can make or kill and administration. Really interested to see how they go this year.

Its one game admittedly, but 1 kick, 1 handball, 2 turnovers, 50min TOG for Billings is an interesting start to this experiment

I already forgot. what did we get for him?

this is what a dees supporter thought of him

To be fair to Billings once the dew came in and it became a slippery, scrappy game that required players to go hard at the footy, he was never going to have an impact and probably the worst sub to have at that point. I wish him well as he needed a fresh start, but I think he'll go the way the of Dunstan. Which probably says just as much about the Melbourne coach as much as it does about Billings tbh
