deadset shame when they lose...
The only shame about Essendon losing, is Essendon losing and that not being accompanied by mass casualties amongst their playing group and supporter base.

Imagine rolling Nick Hind out every week 😂

West Coast look like a poorly run team at the moment. Adam Simpson needs to go IMO.
Should’ve been gone last year. He’s only there because they don’t want to pay him out.

If he coaches again next year it will impact the intentions of players like Harley Reid. It’s a huge mistake keeping him on.

It would appear Cody Weightman is still a grub

There is an article today on the ABC website about the Coodabeen Champions announcement of their retirement.

I have many happy memories of Saturday mornings listening to them, looking forward to Talkback with Torch and the contributions of such luminaries as (in no particular order): Massive from Moorabbin, Clem from Clematis, Donny from Devonport, Helen from Healesville, Pearl from the Peninsula, Ivan from Ivanhoe, Peter from Peterborough, Hans from Hahndorf, the South African character whose name escapes me that represented the WC, the perpetually depressed character again whose name escapes me from Droop Street and representing Footscray, the lawyer Glen from Glenferrie, and the Freo supporter living in Nth Fitzroy.
All culminating in five minutes of mystic wisdom from Guru Bob.

They took a look at football, turned it both inside out and into something greater than mere sport.

For those of you that never knew them, their likes will be hard to duplicate.

For those of you that did, their absence will be sorely missed.

Coodabeens, I salute you.

Absolutely hear hear. Was only quite the young fella when the old man listened to them.

Massive Merv from Moorabbin. First thing they'd hear was a deep rough gravely voice:
"It's Massive."
Followed by the ruffled laughing from Tony, then an almost hesitant "Hi Massive" getting ready for the inevitiable spray.

Or Peter from Peterborough the Dee's supporter with his "Go number 9!" and of course Timmy from Thomastown, the kid who always rang in and asked if Craig Starcevich was going to win the Brownlow that year.

Was classic radio, must revisit again sometime.

Digger, the Collingwood supporter who continually claimed that the umpires were against them.
Where was he from?
I forget.
My personal favourite was Helen from Healesville that continually tried to talk Torch into her bed.

There's an alternative universe where the bombers took Pou and we took the other guy. Also in this universe they won a final more recently.

Lots of alternate universes where they didn't take Tsatus and he went somewhere else. No-one really expected him to slide to us, but we'd have got him if he did.
Same with Clark or McKenzie.

RIP Massive & Timmy.

Saturday Radio in the day was fantastic entertainment.

Always liked them but honestly they were at their best with Tony and Simon still there. Simon’s rant about the You Yangs is legendary.

We used to get the Coodebeens on the ABC on Saturday mornings here in WA too back in the 90s, it was always compulsory listening.

Massive calling in from his fast food stand where he had pies in batter, hot dogs in batter and salad sandwiches in batter as a healthy option.

He usually had Plugger helping him out and Massive would give him a few pies before the game just to make sure he didn't get too skinny.

Just left my chiro appointment. As I have thousands that follow my posts, you may remember Jason Cripps goes to the same chiro. Crippa is good mates with Lethers.

Anyway, after Lethers got the arse my chiro asked Crippa if he'd ever come back to the Saints. His response? "**** no, Ross is like Stalin".

Make of it what you will :moustache:

Ross is nowhere near as handsome as Big Stally 🥰

I'm not sure West Coast are that short on cash that they couldn't afford to pay him out are they ?

They’ve got plenty of money but the soft cap is the same for everyone and by the looks of it they don’t want to pay the tax to go over.
