There's been murmurings of a McCluggage 7 year contract from Brisbane unannounced. If their saga blows up he could slip through but unlikely I would say.
Hopefully Brisbane absolutely stink this year and there is problems galore! Then we try and get McCluggage or someone who is really really pi$$ed off

His first two years with us, he still had his pace. I remember a goal he kicked against melbourne, beat everyone by 20 metres running into the 50. Then it just slowly declined and he became a contested bull without any athleticism.

A bit like Fernando Torres. Played his best years at liverpool and then injuries killed him at chelsea.

Just wanted both to fufill their potential, couldn't blame their efforts.
My memory of Jaeger is that he could put in one good performance then a need a week or three of management. His knee injury forever limited him. Granted that goal was a beauty.

There was one highlight in his first year at the Suns, full speed picks the ball off the ground with out breaking stride. Damn shame we never got to see the bets of Omerea

Will Fagan stay if they fall over again ?

I cant see it.

The window has closed for them after this year.

They might clear some players to freshen up the list.

Cam Raynor to go along side Lewis might be nice.

He is lazy but talented.

So many big bodies on that list.

Just what we need.

Can we not turn every thread into an attack on one of our <22 year old midfielders just because they were high picks?
Christ it's annoying to see.
It sure is.

That's why it's all been removed.

Come on down Baz…

(Just not for our 1st pick this year or next- they need to be absolutely untouchable…)
We need to do what Geelong has done well. Pay unders for incoming recruits and get overs for players that are leaving. I want Baz but we need to offer two second rounders max and nothing else. Along with his acl he has had a few off field issues. Not worth a first rounder or even splitting one.

Couldn’t agree more- especially if we’re picking in the top 5 this year- we absolutely need that young talent in

Send them a future pick and be done with it.

I feel like we will get shafted on a deal like that- I reckon it'll end up being R2 + F1 for R2 + Baz or something along those lines.

Probably depends on where we finish as to how much bargaining power we have. Would we consider offering players on our list before offering draft picks. We can then try and get our list balance a bit better with this approach. I’d consider Ward for Smith personally.. I might be in the minority and Dogs may not be agreeable in any case. Nothing against Ward but if we’re bringing in Baz as an inside mid we may have a surplus of players in this position..

There is no way I’m giving up a future 1st rounder which could be a top pick 5 for Baz. Even if we get a second rounder back, not worth it.

Our list is in this position because we paid overs for O’Meara and Wingard.
Can’t let that happen again.

Go on the Collingwood board and see how their fans are feeling about trading pick 33 and their 1st rounder this year for Lachie Schultz. This will end being pick 10-18. Horrible trade but great for Freo.

I’d try to get a pick from someone else as I wouldn’t want to use next years first if we finish bottom 5 this year as we could be further away then we think and we need as much game changing talent as possible.

I’d rather Baz plus two top 3 first round players than just Baz if that’s where we finish.

Yeah I agree picks need to be off limits

The fact he hasn’t payed all year on big $ and has rehabbed there makes me think he will be looking for a decent deal back to Dogs or maybe plat there till a free agent.
Maybe not, but it’s a bit of a worry. Whilst ACL brings his value down, he may feel he owes them. Or is this not an issue in the cut and thrust?

The Bulldogs offered a token 2 years, he's gone. Whether thats to Hawthorn or Geelong who knows.

Yep - the 2 year offer all but confirms he's off.

I'd like to think we're in pole position but as we know all too well, it's never great to be up against Geelong in a trade race.

like Kingy says, there's no alternative to pace. speed solves everything. We got none of it in the midfield, time to pay up and get some!
