Have many here learnt to read & think about the post before arguing it ?Have we learnt anything from recent trading history? Being easy to deal with doesn’t correlate to getting the club in the best position it can. Sounds as though Geelong will get Clarry and B Smith for a bag of chips whilst we give out 2 years worth to first round picks for a guy that may struggle to stay on the park for the length of contract. Very risky stuff
Absolutely rediculous 2 first round picks for a a bloke almost 30 with a history of back issues.
It is a lot for sure but get ready.
We have done the chasing here. We have committed to him and he has committed to us while contracted for 3 years. Hawks don’t normally back out of deals where they have done the leg work.
It could be a first round pick and a second round pick, but anyone thinking that the Eagles are trading away a contracted player for 1 first round pick only, need to get ready.
they won't and we won't.If the eagles try to bend us over do we walk away?
Do you believe everything you read ?If the eagles try to bend us over do we walk away?
Clayton needs to be regarded as a significant risk. Poison the cub from within. What's not to like?Have we learnt anything from recent trading history? That is the other part of flamin_heck post that could be argued.Clayton needs to be regarded as a significant risk. Poison the cub from within. What's not to like?
We’re having a discussion, I know it’s not fact- just stating it’s bonkers to be considering it. I really hope the Hawks arent. Yes im aware we could have pick 18 next year but we also may have pick 7 or 8 for example. A first and a second I think is fair for both parties.Have many here learnt to read & think about the post before arguing it ?
The post you quoted explained what most think is the deal.
But many others only read ‘2 first rounders’
I’ll put it a different way to you
We give pick 13 & a F1 , which could be 1 or it could be 18. Most likely closer to 18
We get Barrass & pick 23
So that is in real terms a 10 pick slide this year (in a supposed strong/even draft) & 1 x 1st round pick
Before quoting me & complaining again about the ‘expected’ deal, just think about the pick slide.
It’s not as much as you (& others) are making it out to be.
Are the Smith rumours very similar to the Oliver rumours or do they differ? If the rumours about Oliver and Smith are true, the cats could truly be off the show and not in a good way.
As much as I would love Smith here, I think the Hawks have walked away due to concerns.

Is a massive unit, even bigger than Meek.Liam Reidy (Freo ruck), signed a 1 year deal today. We were weighing up a move on him apparently.
Isn't that the Weapon?
If the eagles try to bend us over do we walk away?

I was told the “framework” of a deal was done early days between both clubs but that could have been “Hawks guaranteeing we give up pick 13” with other options to be explored later.
I don’t think we will walk away but I don’t think this trade gets done early either.
I really don’t think you read & understood my post. We’re having a discussion, I know it’s not fact- just stating it’s bonkers to be considering it. I really hope the Hawks arent. Or they could have their hands fullGeez - If they land Smith and Oliver … the Cats could be a handful in 2025
More like their noses fullOr they could have their hands full
