Lewis for Morris?I wouldn't give up 1 first round for lewis let alone 2 or any of our premiership players. You fellas are dreaming.
Weird names being thrown up as to which Brisbane player we would want, I'd have thought McCluggage was the obvious choice if we were just plucking players that would suit us
That's premiership player Eric Hipwood to you.You choose to play Eric Hipwood
Jog on
You don't win Premierships in the first half of a season. You'd think with the kind of season the Lions had, a Lions fan would know this. This is exactly why everyone here thinks you're a dickhead. That's premiership player Eric Hipwood to you.
Lewis will miss half the season when we need some immediately. Why would we give up so much in that situation when we can get a 1 year stop gap then target someone who will actually stay on the field.
Devon Robertson could be that F2?Lewis should be worth Barrass and extra. Lewis is more than 3 years younger, and a good Key Forward is much harder to find than a Key Defender.
We're short on list spots. Could be used to build our draft capital in 2025.
Just give Brisbane the number to the Eagles' List Manager. They can fix up the Eagles for Barrass, and find us a F2 pick.
We have heaps of our own fringe players who are AFL standard. I don't think we need any of your older players (or at least any who would be a fair trade for Lewis). Morris would address a need and is the right age but I would be hanging on to him.G'day Hawkers, here checking out the Mitch Lewis rumour, had been really hoping we give our young ruckman Smith more of a run and restructure, so fed up with hearing about all the delisted players we need to bring in, but if the Lewis trade happened am sure would get on board with it.
IMO the only way we could make it happen would be a player swap, we don't currently have enough points to bring Ashcroft and Sam Marshall (academy kid in - Bog in under 18 GF) this year, so need to turn pick 20 into more points as it is.
With the revision to the academy discounts next year really need to keep next year's first to bring another academy kid called Annable in (projecting as a 1st rounder at this stage) so basically certainly don't have the draft currency to get any deal done.
I love Bailey and all our players (we've just won a flag) Zorko and Lester getting on but both expected to hold their place next year, lost Joe, but Levi Ashcroft, Kiddy Coleman and Linc McCarthy should be pressing for places in the team this year, so maybe there is a premiership lion looking to return to Melbourne?
If so you guys would be one of the first teams they'd want to play for!
The 'steak knife' or fringe type players who are AFL standard on are list are Dev Robertson (linked to Eagles), Prior (linked to Essendon) Bruce Reville showed promised this year but the team getting harder to crack into, Darcy Garndiner but probably wrong age profile for your list, also have Doedee another two time acl victim in the wings but clearly a big question mark there.
Have a great summer and good luck with your exciting team next year..
play Hipwood as your main key next yearThat's premiership player Eric Hipwood to you.
Lewis will miss half the season when we need some immediately. Why would we give up so much in that situation when we can get a 1 year stop gap then target someone who will actually stay on the field.
If he wants to go, we trade him.Do not trade Lewis. Stupid
You literally just traded us a second rounder for our fourth best key forward last year. Do the math.I wouldn't give up 1 first round for lewis let alone 2 or any of our premiership players. You fellas are dreaming.
Prefer not too. Give him another year to get things going, hopefully he is back after the bye and is part of a premiership assault. That would probably change his mind to stick aroundIf he wants to go, we trade him.
Definitely too thin up forward as was experienced in our backline when we lost Frosty. Battle & Barrass should rectify that backline problem but with the added bonus of Battle being able to play forward as too with Sicily & Dimma. We got lucky with Calsher coming on this year & competing like he did otherwise I doubt we would have made the finals or got close to it.Unless Brisbane drastically overpay no way would I trade Mitch.
Scaife doesn't look like an AFL key forward to me, Gunston has one more year left, Sicily wants to stay down back long term.
Leaves us with only Chol & Dear long term.
Way too thin at a time when we are competing for flags.
Why would they want Lewis though? Cadman coming, Hogan, Riccardi, Brown etc not exactly a position of needIf Lewis wanted to leave the Giants would he the team to deal with… As they are loaded with draft picks and have Max Gruzewski.
