Agreed.
LDU.
Get it done.
And Harley ReidCould we get Bradshaw and LDU
A midfield of

Wouldn't mine a FA forward but to go with Dear and Lewis.

He’s definitely got a lot to work on with his defensive side.I know people get as stiffy about LDU but I just don’t see it with that bloke. IMO he is very overrated for a bloke who has been given the keys to a Roos midfield. He seems far more interested in his offensive role with very limited application to the defensive stuff.
I could be way off, but every time I see him play he just reeks of averageness. Sure he might play a decent game every 5 weeks and you hear about it as the media seems to love his name, but on overall output, it’s a pass
Isn’t this oversold though given you have to pay 95% year on year? For example in 2022 we only would have banked about 650k spare so you would need several years of this to do any significant sort of front loading. Front loading will also become dangerous as clubs will try to pick off older stars when they start getting the low backended money with sizeable offers. I believe that was the Saints play for Merrett so it’s started already. List mgt is fascinating hey…
Yeah, not sure he's a perfect fit.I know people get as stiffy about LDU but I just don’t see it with that bloke. IMO he is very overrated for a bloke who has been given the keys to a Roos midfield. All I took from that is Ross Lyon is coming hard or something or other.
That's a mental image no-one wants!Ross Lyon is coming hard

And even then they would fail, I feel.St.Kilda are going to be chasing every available gun midfielder.
They desperately need talent in that area and will likely continue to have decent cap space.
They need a promising season in 2025 to try and become as close to a destination club as they can.
Don’t believe that Cunningham ends up at Hawthorn or even at Box Hill. Was speaking to a higher up at Box Hill and asked about Cunningham. Was told that his name hadn’t been mentioned but that they have picked up a few handy ex AFL players to join the club. Announcements will be starting to drop as of Monday next week.I’m not against the David Cunningham interest. Not sure exactly where he fits but belongs at the level and is very handy depth and would come cheap. Anyone know what happened with the Gold Coast islander bloke that we had interest in?

They have nothing to lean back on. No history of success. No big MCG games. No well documented culture.
They’re irrelevant and when they are competing for the same players that clubs like Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong are they will almost always lose out.
I don’t think they Chairman coming out and having a winging session at the B&F about how they can’t compete with other clubs because the league is so unfair would help them in anyway with trying to sell potential recruits either. That to me was a real bonehead move. Literally announcing that they’ve given up unless the AFL given them a leg up… which they then did.

I don’t think their Chairman coming out and having a whinge session at the B&F about how they can’t compete with other clubs because they don’t have the talent, can’t access the talent and the league is so unfair would help them in any way with trying to sell potential recruits either. That to me was a real bonehead move. Literally announcing that they’ve given up unless the AFL given them a leg up… which they then did.
Imagine trying to get away with underpaying a player then getting stroppy when he leaves and uninviting him to the B&F where you tell the rest of the players and club that they are too shit to be successful and there is nothing we can do about it without AFL charity. And even then they would fail, I feel.

When you look at the deplorable way the Saints continue to handle things is it any wonder they continue to be stuck in mediocrity?Imagine trying to get away with underpaying a player then getting stroppy when he leaves and uninviting him to the B&F where you tell the rest of the players and club that they are too shit to be successful and there is nothing we can do about it without AFL charity.
There are three clubs that I would fold to help lessen the dilution of talent in the league and this year has St. Kilda taking the lead and breaking away from the other two.

IMO it sounds like this is manufactured by North angling for Band 1 comp. If I take off my Hawthorn hat then I think it’s exactly what they should be doing. The key will be bringing in another vet similar to Luke ParkerHearing the Aints are gearing up a 1.5m offer for LDU! Getting ridiculous... Still though, if he leaves it'll be either one of Blues, Don's, Hawks or cats. Pies would have to have a great season to lure players with talent from low performance clubs.
