AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
He will start as a small pressure forward given his love to tackle and we need that given we delisted 2 and butler is injured and more importantly not a small forward. We need to develop the next generation. Besides have you seen Andersons game with Boxhill this year? Dude is hard at it, remind me of how nuke started at Boxhill early on.
He's as tough as any kid I've seen.We need to develop the next generation. Besides have you seen Andersons game with Boxhill this year? Dude is hard at it, remind me of how nuke started at Boxhill early on.

You need to keep recruiting and developing mids. Any kid we take this year might not peak until Nash and Worpel are 30. From 2009 til 2017 we were unable to draft a best 22 calibre mid and we paid for it eventually. We need to develop the next generation. Besides have you seen Andersons game with Boxhill this year? Dude is hard at it, remind me of how nuke started at Boxhill early on.
And god forbid you ever try to leave, they’ll revoke your invitation to the bnf and spit at you on the way outAnd even then they would fail, I feel.
They have nothing to lean back on. No history of success. No big or marquee MCG games. No well documented culture. No big rivalry.
They’re just irrelevant and when they are competing for the same players that clubs like Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong are they will almost always lose out.
I don’t think their Chairman coming out and having a whinge session at the B&F about how they can’t compete with other clubs because they don’t have the talent, can’t access the talent and the league is so unfair would help them in any way with trying to sell potential recruits either. That to me was a real bonehead move. Literally announcing that they’ve given up unless the AFL given them a leg up… which they then did.
Let me try and resurrect this thread and hopefully trade discussions can be made here.
At Pick 33 we will have enough options. Surely one of Sims, Gerryn, Mraz, Barrat, Oliver, Davis etc will be available. So any trade deals that includes pick 33 means other side are not losing out much as this draft is quite equal from 15-35 or so.
Hopefully we are able to snag either Dons or Lions top pick. Dons more likely as switchroo is straightforward but they will have enough suitors too.

True.I think the general consensus is that there will be one tall forward or swingman option available for us. One of Faull, Simms, Strumpf, Gerreyn, O'Farrell, Barrat etc. are all options with upside and fit the list profile. I personally wouldn't be looking to trade up, but think we would likely have deals in place.
If we trade up it would likely be for a mid/fwd slider.
I don't care what our draft position is but I want us to draft Malakai Champion just for the name!Let me try and resurrect this thread and hopefully trade discussions can be made here.

Yeah I like trading our F1 for a pick and keeping our 33. Get two decent players and Anderson as a rookie. Not sure how likely this is but that’s my dream!I think the general consensus is that there will be one tall forward or swingman option available for us. naa, can't do that. That will leave Gunners out of list.Yeah I like trading our F1 for a pick and keeping our 33. Get two decent players and Anderson as a rookie. Not sure how likely this is but that’s my dream!
I wonder who does have a crack at those Richmond late 1st rounders. In my view:
Prime Candidates
Essendon - Already expressed an interest to trade back in and have 2 1sts. Either would be great for Richmond.
Bulldogs - They tried to get 13 and would back their 1st pick next year to be >10.
Hawthorn - They have Carltons F1 which they'd expect to be >10 and tried to get 13.
Outside Chance
Geelong - They could back their 1st pick next year to be >10 but there's risk there and might want flexibility for trades
St Kilda - A bit risky. Likely trading a 2025 top 10 pick for pick 20+. They already have 7&8. Don't need to be greedy.
Adelaide - Might try as they only have 1 early pick this year but too risky for me.
Kangaroos - There is talk of them wanting a 2nd pick but F1 is too high for Richmond's picks. Reckon they try GWS.
Very Unlikely
Goldcoast & Brisbane - Need F1s for academy bids next year
Fremantle & Westcoast - Will be saving picks for a possible Warner trade
GWS & Sydney - Already have multiple picks late in the 1st round
Impossible
Carlton, Collingwood, Port Adelaide, Melbourne - Don't have F1s
I think Richmond won't have issues getting F1 straight swaps for 18 and 20 providing the right players are there. 22/23 starts to become a bit of a stretch. They may end up trading the 1st 2 and using the other 2. Again it depends who is there.
Tell you who I would love.Yep, keep drafting talent. I think we're ok for defenders , rucks and medium size frwds, but need to still stock up on at least 1 inside mid and a kpf through the next three drafts. I'd rather not trade unless a A grade star is available. Concentrate on FA's and the draft.
Could this be Cody Anderson?Tell you who I would love.
A Ben Cunningham / Tom Liberatore type, one of those mid sized, solid, hard as a rock inside mids. That type of player is not fashionable but they are always valuable (especially in finals).
Often those types don’t go top ten either so should be able to pick one up in the 30s.
We already have one of those. His name is Nuke.Tell you who I would love.

And yes, he was immeasurably valuable in finals...
You're right, we have two of those. With slightly varying degrees of fashionability....Nah it's definitely Worps.
Newk IS fashionable.
