We just need to find the next Toby Green in the next draft..
If there isn’t one just the next Jeremy Cameron

Now that would be nice. But I have good feels about the Treacy and Amiss duo. So young and so much upside. Tabernar
is there for added defensive oppo focus. , we are getting there.

He is the exact type we have needed for five years.

Type. Midfielder who can play forward, Walters in his prime.

Cam Zurhaar fits that description. He is pretty much the type of player we need apart from his defensive side. He is available end of year and probably won’t be stupidly expensive. Really comes down to if JLo thinks he can add that defence element to his game.

He might be "free" from a pick perspective, but that dude is getting paid big time if he moves and given his output, it's going to be overs.

As much as I dont like him, imagine Papley in our team.

Eddie Murphy What GIF by Laff

Bolton is extremely overrated, both in the media and on this board. He is flashy but wildly inconsistent and will have one good game every 4 games or so. He would not be the answer for us

Our ideal missing piece is a proper bull goal kicking mid, like a Petracca or Dusty type, which are obviously extremely difficult to find. In the absence of that, a goal kicking wing like Gulden would be next best, or a small forward with true natural goal sense like Pickett or Cameron
Warner is as close as we are going to get there

Is there anything on that beyond what CTD said?
That depends on how incestuous you think rumour sharing is between people at The West, Daniel’s, Ellis and random community ITK sources.

My take would be I think we don’t want to take these picks to the draft if we can avoid it and wanted one of McDonald or Warner and sounds like we’ve missed on McDonald. There has also been nothing on anyone outside those two and Baker

It makes more sense. if you hold the tongue in a " Lal lal " position. As long as it has a stretched motion .

I'm sure there'll be a couple of players in the first round we'll happily take but I do agree that our preference is ready to go players. It's not exactly a terrible consolation prize and we'd definitely get value moving 1 or 2 of them forward as well if need be.

I hope we target Collard and grab him for next to nothing at the end of next year.
2026 - 1st rounders get 3 years now.

That dudes u18 highlights though, exactly what we need.

Could do a Jason Horne Francis?

But ok, 3 years time. Walters probably only has 5 more years left in him by then!

I remember hearing how Jackson and Melbourne were very close and meeting "next week" to discuss contract quite a bit a couple of years ago.

I've seen Nathan Wilson in a press conference saying how he isn't thinking about coming back to WA at all, four weeks later he is in purple.

I remember Colin Young on the radio saying that Brad Hill was intent on seeing out his contract with Freo.

None of it is real until the ink hits the contract. Not a single manager will say anything potentially adding pressure to the play from their own current supporters. Not any professional will torpedo their own clients season a month in.

Not after what happened to Phil Davis at Adelaide.
Yeah but saying you’re deep in contract negotiations with the club and are keen on staying is different from simply saying that the player is happy at the club and enjoying their time there

Thought it was only top 20 not 1st round.

Definitely not over until signed but this is a very different feel to Jackson no? I don’t remember Dover ever saying something as strong as Williams just said and whatever a club says is meh. He can not torpedo it without basically saying they are just deciding on years.

While the lines are blurry and smudged you can still read enough between them to understand the double speak

Warner is not a midfield bull but he is a goal kicking mid. Would instantly make our midfield top five (imo). Only problem is Warner is not a Fyfe replacement so when Fyfe retires we will be down a big bodied mid.

Depends on who is available in the draft this year. If we can get some elite forward talent like Malakai and a player like Hotton, it would be beneficial to trade for Collard in a few years time. Would allow Lance to prove himself and also wisen up a little. If there isn't any forward talent we like then I would explore and trying to trade a small forward in.

Fyfe has been far from his best /potential for a few years now. Someone like Will Brodie could easily cover him.

Well we will know when Fyfe gets omitted. If Brodie doesn't play then the club clearly don't rate him enough.

Logan literally said that during an interview though earlier this season. Doubt much has changed in a few weeks time. Maybe Freo have eased off a little and Logan's manager is applying the pressure. Don't forget our ITKs stated something was happening behind the scenes and Sydney threw $1.5m and JUH!
