Not the worst idea, might get him cheap if the Suns don't see him fitting in.
But I reckon he might take up too much cap room.
Lukosious ain't going anywhere cheap

Crows would be all over him as a Tex replacement (fog, luko, thilthorpe)

Good news is port already have 4 talls

He would cost a tonne though

If Logan McDonald is off the market and signs with Sydney.. Jack lukosius from Gold Coast is contracted but is not being used as a key forward.. understand he is an Adelaide boy.. but an outstanding kick and mobile

I think Jack is a weapon up the ground. He near single handedly tore us a new one last game we played, like a giant winger roaming around by himself and using it well.

Plus he can drift forward. We kind of have one of those in Jackson, more contested, but I wouldn't mind having another tall weapon.

Are you sure you want him? You said he could be the next Jack Watts prior to being drafted.

Wild suggestion but just hear me out...

Our 3x First round picks for Pick 1 from West Coast. I don't even mind if it's our future 1st instead of our later pick (likely from port). They go through this year realising they have glaring holes and quantity vs quality wise 3 picks will do them better.
We don't need another 3 kids, we need the best kid. A goal kicking half forward gun who plays from round 1. We need the quality over more kids to develop.

*This is very much dependant on what players are actually available from the draft and I am a hard no if it's just another great midfielder. But worth a look?
Has been discussed on our board using last year’s ladder positions as a guide. You guys have started the season well so if all picks fall after 12+ I’d say that’s a hard no but a possibility worth keeping an eye on for both clubs.

Remember how when we were chasing Jackson, they signed Brayshaw at the beginning of the year. Could be a similar situation?

What are the odds that 1 in a million chance wouldn't come off?
They've been reports from various football news online sources (yeah I get how unreliable those sources are but this is where rumours get posted on freo bigfooty) saying we were targeting three players at Sydney. Considering Chad Warner is contracted it wouldn't surprise me if the third player was actually Will Hayward. He would be a very good fit for us and Sydney could be struggling to match a decent offer of say 600K for his services. He's a free agent and in my opinion very underrated. He's got great speed and kicking skills from what Ive seen.

I'd be into Lukosius if available, he's a decent kicker and can hoof them. Sure he scored a 50+ bomb against us in the inaugural Slather Round?!

The 3 first round picks give us ridiculous flexibility to do some deals if the rumour mills get going and some players not even WA-born eye of a bit of Freo team candy! Nom nom!!

I think if we do well this year (for me that's minimum qualify for finals and at least win 1 game, similar to 2022...) it does improve the chances of Freo being seen as a more palatable destination for folks looking to ride the good-time rodeo!! Yeeeeehhhhhhawwwwwwwwww!

We'll see

Hayward is mentioned in this article...not to us though.

Twomey says this draft is tracking very nicely, could be up there on the super draft scale (01, 19, 18)

Good draft to have 3 picks in

Also reckons baker is gettable

Ollie Florent is another free agent swan who would be a good addition to our team in my opinion. He's also a free agent. If we can't get McDonald then getting either Hayward or Florent wouldn't be the worse outcome. That way we keep our picks in whats shaping up as a strong draft.

I think we need McDonald

He fits our age demographic perfectly

He takes pressure off Amiss and Tracey. Tabs is getting older and got toweled up on the weekend even though he did kick a handy goal.

We could use a first round this year next and still have two picks in the first round to hit the draft. Plus our Saints pick to get a slider.

McDonald IMO needs to be a bit more dominant but has all the tools to impose himself on the game.

I agree completely about your views about McDonald what Im saying is basically that Sydney needs him too and I don't think we'll get him but I'm happy to proven wrong if he was to sign with us.
