I think they'll do their trading early. If they wait until after the Ashcroft bid, their tradeable picks will be gone in matching.

27 for a future second and points. 34/43 down for more points. And they'll be basically done for the draft in the first 5 minutes - except for the formalities of matching and how they'll use any late picks they end up with.

I floated the idea of future second or third round pick swaps to get an extra pick in this years draft. It would have to be with a team with a very good chance of finishing above us next year (ie brisbane,sydney,hawthorn,).

I don't think any team would bet on finishing far enough above us for that sption to have any value at all.

Yea it is a very longshot, but It is the only way of involving a future pick to get another pick in this draft.

Let’s say we didn't trade for Houston but still managed to get pick 13 for Noble. Who would you want to be drafted with that pick?

I'm intrigued to see who Port take with that pick. I'll also keep an eye on what happens to pick 11, which is now with Richmond and went to Freo via us from the Schultz trade

There is a way we can actually get pick 34 from birsbane.Will require bit of manoeuvring, but certainly doable.

The question than becomes, do you want one 30's pick and then 2 picks towards the bottom of the 4th round, or are we better off with 3 picks in the top 50 (if we trade 60 and 66 to move back up) .
