Didn’t Carlton move whole families into suburbs in their zone, so they’d have first dibs on the talented kids?

Noah Mraz was the pick exchanged to hawks in the Ginni trade
Christian Moraes was the pick we got from the ginni trade (connected to hawks) who we gave it to port in the houston/richards/noble trade

I think if we hadn't given a F1 in the Schultz trade it would have been included in the Houston trade
Therefore, IMO, one of the options below probs would have occurred
- Maybe our 2025 1st wouldn't have been included...although I think it would
More likely
- we'd have ended with multiple picks in the 20s but given up both our 2024+25 firsts

If this was the case, it would be interesting to know if we'd have still gone KPP/KPP (20s picks) plus a small later or if we'd gone KPP / best mid then best of the rest later
(Or even best available / best available / KPP)

Look up the butterfly effect, those deals don't get done and the exact same circumstances don't play out therefore that's a useless exercise.

Maybe you don’t understand that the time to whine/speculate about AJ and Markov was when they were re-signed. Not at the time when the club was simply re-jigging the list to meet draft day requirements.

If AJ wasn’t contracted he probably wouldn’t have been re rookied.

As it’s already been pointed out to you the club didn’t need to open up list spots by delisting them… they had the flexibility already to change the mix of rookie v senior spots, which they did.

I am somewhat surprised! This young bloke - Clancy Dennis - is an All Australian KEY DEFENDER from WA who as far as I know as 4.45 PM today has not been picked up even in today's, ROOKIE DRAFT. Rather Collingwood re-drafted OLEG MARKOV & ASH JOHNSON. OK. Personally, I would rather draft a young kid like this bloke - as a project player - as opposed to Johnson initially & then Markov, secondly. I personally do not think that we really need either of them going forward. With Houston & Perryman coming in then, I think that Markov is really superfluous to our backline needs. OK. On the flip side, I just cannot see Johnson getting any better in terms of attack on the ball, intensity & exerting real pressure on his opponent week in & week out. So I am somewhat surprised as this young 195 cm key defender & WA Under 18 State defender has been linked with us all through the lead up to the National Draft last night & not picked up.OK.I would rather keep investing in youth than blokes who have already reached their limits. Who knows, perhaps I am missing something here. Is it possible that either Markov & Johnson have had amazing starts to this pre-season & so are both training the house down? Anyway, goodbye & good luck.

From my understanding they were nervous thinking swans would match, but they got the inking they may not and once they didnt, the happiness on their faces was clear. Fly had a smile and Dekka and the others were joyful.
