I think it’s next to impossible for a 3 way pick swap on draft night. It would have to be agreed to beforehand and trust the other teams don’t stitch you up.
yeah i don't think there has ever been a 3 way draft night pick swap

however to the posters earlier point i think it is a fair deal
saints pick 8 to north
north f1 to gws
gws pick 15 and 16 to saints

Hope so much that we don't somehow trade and get tauru?

Although he hasn't had a great year and there are some worries there that didn't exist 10 months ago, I've thought since the beginning of the year and still think that FO'S is the best player in this class.

So for me, if Richmond are taking Lalor, I'm holding #2 and drafting FO'S. If Richmond take FO'S at #1 I'd trade back for Tauru.

After hearing the Thursfield interview it really does sound like North stay at 2 and take the leftover of Lalor or FOS.
Yes it does sound a lot like we will be holding onto our pick and also that we think there's a clear top 2 and we assume that Richmond concurs with this. I am not so certain that it's a Lalor/FOS lock.

How does Tauru pair up against draftees next year?
I'd hate to pick up a top 4 pick for a top 12 player next year..

i'd rather Ludowyke next year as a KPF
or young Willem Duursma as a versatile kpp

for that reason i think we trade our f2 into this draft
hold our f1

I don't think we'll see any club getting that sort of value for their future firsts in this draft. Clubs are just gaga about this year's first round and we've seen a trend that clubs are very happy to knock back future picks when they've got someone they like in their sights, like when Adelaide refused what turned out to be pick 3 this year from West Coast when Curtin was available.
Crows wouldn't mind that deal back I reckon. Clubs can be too clever with themselves.
I'm sure we have, but geez I hope we've offered our F1 to Crows for 4

What do you think we can realistically get for our F2?
All the talk about this draft being deep & picks around 20-30 having real value, I’m not sure we’d get anything inside pick 30

Essendon would surely have 28 and 31 on the table for multiple F2.

Brisbane may have 27 on the table.

Realistically our F2 is the best available other than maybe West Coast.

The only difficulty is adding later picks this year to it for points but I’m sure that if Kako or Marshall slip later than expected then that won’t be a worry.

Early F1 (ours, STK, ESS/Melb) would net you anywhere from 15-20ish (GWS, Sydney, maybe Richmond)

Late F1 probably more around 20-25 (Richmond’s picks)

Then Early F2 (Ours, WCE) probably the 25-35 range.

WTF!

Picks in the teens? Get off the meth.

Of course it’s b/s. We wouldn’t get what he is worth.

BUT, he is a restricted free agent, we have the cap space to match any offer, therefore a trade will have to be reached. LDU isn’t going to a bottom 8 team for $$$. He wants to play finals, he is going to a team that gives him the best opportunity to do that, which will be a Top 10 team, whose draft picks start from 11 onwards, throw in f/s, compensation picks, academy picks it gets pushed back to the teens.

We just have to win 8-10 games, so he signs.

Chubbs, I don't think you're thinking your way through this correctly.
I shouldn't have said anything about Sheez. They've got some similar attributes (IQ, decision making, pros) and you've all taken it and ran with "Chubbs thinks he's as good as Sheezel". I don't think he's as good as Sheezel.
Jagga will be a mighty fine player. I think a few others will be better and suit us better. End of story.

Geez Chubbs, you had to put the Kevlar on for that Jagga comment eh?..

FWIW I knew exactly what you were alluding to when you first said it, but I gotta admit.. watching the air raid coming in thick and fast and watching you defending gave me a chuckle lol.

Good work soldier! :)
