Of course it’s b/s. We wouldn’t get what he is worth.

BUT, he is a restricted free agent, we have the cap space to match any offer, therefore a trade will have to be reached. LDU isn’t going to a bottom 8 team for $$$. He wants to play finals, he is going to a team that gives him the best opportunity to do that, which will be a Top 10 team, whose draft picks start from 11 onwards, throw in f/s, compensation picks, academy picks it gets pushed back to the teens.

We just have to win 8-10 games, so he signs.

Not a problem taking best available at 2. I'd be rapt with one of FOS or Draper.

Tigers are mad if they don't trade for two. They could be left with Langford at 6 which does not compliment their midfield.

Saints are in a bad spot thinking we were going to take Taurus at 2 and pushing one of the better mids to their pick.

Saints are a bigger chance of trading with us if they want to guarantee a premium mid in FOS, Draper, Smith.

I think its fairly obvious they have a buyer for F1 or F2.. just not sure of what it might look like.

I know a saints supporter who is convinced LDU is going to them also. Why would LDU choose that club seems completely lost on them.

We have 4 list spots, River will get taken in the RD with a passed pick imo.

Nah it's classic BF. I love it. Just not sure you can call someone vanilla who tested so well athletically.
We'll be very happy with FOS.

Plenty have tested well 'athletically' and done **** all.

FOS's accumulation ability scares the **** out of me at pick 2 and imo he has the lowest floor of all the premium mids.

It seems LDU leaving will be due to lack of success here, so you'd think he'd want to go to a better team that is ready for finals, I'm no expert but saints seems flip of the coin at best to be finals bound over next few years

Yeah that’s my point. Be last on a list of Melbourne clubs he would choose you’d think. Hawks will throw everything at him, including Sam Mitchell’s wife.

With this we traded f1 for Caleb Daniel and pick 24. No way I'd be happy with that

I don't think F1 on its own will be enough, and we have nothing else... maybe F1 and F2 for 10 & their F2?

Well that's your right to not like this player or that player. You've been against FOS because of touches.
Accumulation means little (Zac Fisher anyone?) if there isn't any damage from those touches.
He said he looked slow, 20m in 3 seconds isn't slow. Athleticism is one thing but I rate his skills, footy IQ, aerial ability, defensive pressure and ability to create scores. I'd be fine with Lalor or Draper but it seems we've settled on FOS and I think he'd fit our culture as well being a Vic Country kid.
Also, didn't do a big preseason like some others probably did, so he's got massive upside.
Looking at his stats the last two years he'll get 15-23 touches quite easily, 4-5 marks/tackles/inside 50's per game.
He had 16 tackles in 5 champs games and Jagga had 8 tackles with an extra game across 2023 & 2024.

The irony being we’d snap up the players they’ve been linked to (Tauru and Travaglia) no problems but it’s boring for the Saints.
