I would have to say the anticipation of who our key forward is for this years draft is simply off the charts!
Whether we split {if we are able} or we take our gun mid and see who's left in the second round for our guy, its going to be in my eye, the most anticipated pick in 20 years.

Its good to see different points of view and reasoning whether your just a few looks at the players involved or in spare time able to watch them play. As with the top six players {the mids} and where they are rated, its the same for where the key forwards are going to go in this draft so many different positions it really is so intriguing, and a fact not yet discussed is what if we like a key forward and we have intel that he's also liked by three or four clubs and by some way or another we can't split our pick, do we take him with our first pick, knowing another club will grab him or do we just take one of the mids and take whoever is next on our list.
Agree

Essentially if we split pick 2 we will get 1 of Shanahan/Armstrong plus can still grab another at 22

And if we don’t we still get 1 of Gerryn, Faull or J Whitlock at 22

I like it, but think there's no chance Hannaford gets through to our second rounder.
With all the mids and kpp, there is every chance he makes it to 22.

Most teams are stacked with small fwds while we have **** all.

Yeah great call…….i think he’s got even more potential to play anywhere. Heeney like.
I don't usually get too attached to draftees pre draft, but I really want us to draft Tauru. Would be exciting having he and Duursma at each end of the ground.

Mentioned earlier, his marking, versatility and courage remind me of Adam Hunter from the Eagles. Like him, reckon Tauru could play just about any position from the highlights I've seen.

Dreaming. Smalls are about the hottest commodity in the game and most sides have one good one at best. Hawks, GWS and Geelong all play 4+ and you can bet other teams will be playing copycat this offseason.

Played well today, but he’s currently sitting at 30 with Twomey and not in RookieMe’s top 30. Surely we’re a chance with 22.
Still 2 months till the draft and the phantom drafts might still change. Luke Jackson was rated at 15 or something 2 months out from the 2019 draft and went at pick 3.

He's had an immense last month as a small forward and then was his side's best player yesterday playing midfield in the Grand Final.

He'll be the best performing player at the combine and fly up draft boards if he already hasn't.

A lock for top 15 at this point I reckon.

He’s exactly the type of player that GWS will take with their 1st rd pick .

Gets a mountain of it - tick
Tackling - tick
Defensive running - tick
Decision making - tick
Hard ball gets - tick
Ridiculous goal at 6:45 in the third - tick
Has the moves like Jagga - tick

I'm going to keep going with this until everyone is on board. Except for Richmond, that is.

We desperately need this guy and I'd hate to see him at another club (unless it's Richmond, which we have no control over) because we did something dumb and split our pick, missing out on another Sheezel/Kerch.

Love your conviction on the kid. Who are you taking at 2 if Richmond take him at 1? Or are you happy to split the pick then if they do take him?

I really hope someone bites and takes our #2 pick. If we can get pick 6 and 17 in return we take it and run.
#6 Alex Tauru
#17 Shanahan/Whitlock
#22 Hannaford/Berry
In that scenario, we address every need with KPD, KPF and small forward.

Plays a lot like Jack Macrae

I don't generally agree with splitting high pick but i suppose if there ever was a year to do it this year would be it obviously. Just can't see how we do though all teams want the same i would have thought. Some talk about the Tigers 2 picks but i just reckon all clubs will want to keep their picks. Hopefully someone might pop up if we decide to go that way. I know The Talent Scout has spoken about splitting picks and we should get suiters he would know more than me about it I'm just not so sure teams will want to swap with us.
