trade the 2 x future seconds for the brother. Skip the 25 draft all together. When you have made this much of a mess you might as well go all in
One second rounder should be enough
I keep reading this …..how we doing that? With pick 52? He will be gone in first lot of picks won’t he?
Should've been a future second rounder. Worth a pick around 20 - 25 next year. If you were selling it you would've lead with all the stats about how no club has ever had a perfect draft and clearly hit with all picks in 1 draft so your better to spread the load over multiple drafts. If we held out for a bit longer, with several supposedly talented key big men still on the table, that would've been a reasonable unwhite line fever move that we would have accepted. Anyone know who the number one pick is going to be next year? I'm sure the boy can play. Has a big engine. Rory lobb was a revelation at hb last year before the dogs packed it in. Can only think Will Dawson will be assuming more responsibility next year. I saw chom interviewing at the bnf this year. Yes it was one quarter. But u cud see the question being asked of himself, am I a gun CHF? Not having Goater ready until round 8 next year or whenever it is is a massive setback for us, hence why we went all in on Daniel. St kilda taking mcrae for 46 or whatever it was was a joke by Luke Beveridge on us. Hopefully shermanator is right and we actually do use Daniels pin point kicking to his the duursmas, sheezels and mckerchers up in the middle. The amount of long bombs on a matchsticks head that just exited our forward 50 at will last year. I also think Matt Whitlock might excel under the roof too, which might have added to our thinking. But if we get goater back in round 8, will Dawson has a spot in that backline aswell, it will start to look stupid having fisher on a 5 year deal. AFL kinda screwed us with those priority picks not being able to be traded for future picks really. You would think mckercher goes on all, and FOS takes his spot on the backline. I think the thinking here is the first year player is being ran away from, so their body is a little bit more protected. It's a ballsy move, this Whitlock move. I kind of think where we are able to place chom will determine our season next year. If we could get him forward, he might genuinely compete. He does have that streak in him
Lots of questions to be answered and a lot to play out.

The fact we offered that first for every pick after 8 and it was shut down by every club, shows what they think of this draft compared to next years
And the thing is that every club would have been offering f1 to get into the first round but all in Sunbury think our f2 was more than enough.

We need to start winning games of footy and rising up the ladder. Clarko did it at the Hawks in his third year and there’s no reason why history can’t repeat. We also need to stop wishing for early first round picks and being entrenched at the bottom of the ladder. I’m really sick of the loser mentality. Let’s just give Matt Whitlock a chance. I think that he’ll end up a very good player and his versatility is very important moving forward.
Plus having the first pick on night two in 2025 will be a good chance to select a slider, or field offers from clubs desperate to pick up another slider. Breathe folks, we have a very strong nucleus of guns on our list that will grow together and hopefully become a powerhouse like the team of the 90’s.

Too much logic
Not enough outrage mate

You wont do too well around here mate

Way to go recruiting team you are superstars yes you can pick the right players with our low picks but after that is done you are ****ing hopeless. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Richmond absolutely love negotiating with us as we are ****ing imbeciles we surrender to them so easily

Players other clubs valued ahead of our F1:

St Kilda - Alix Tauru
Melbourne - Xavier Lindsay
Richmond - Taj Hotton, Jonty Faull, Harry Armstrong, Luke Trainor
Port Adelaide - Joe Berry
West Coast Eagles - Bo Allan
Fremantle - Murphy Reid
GWS Giants - Ollie Hannaford, Harrison Oliver, Cody Angove
Western Bulldogs - Cooper Hynes
Sydney Swans - Jesse Datoli, Ned Bowman

Single worst trade in draft history.

Im as biased as we come, i think we’ll push the 8. In reality its pick 4ish??

What the ****??
What was it, 8 wins was bottom 4 this year? So it seems crazy. I can see the thinking behind getting an extra year into a tall... We really needed both picks 27 and 28 to make this deal work though. The rich get richer

Do we cop a fine as I didn't see a female in our group?
Apparently the President and CEO will be making a statement today, acknowledging that we were the only team without a female staff member in our draft room, but declaring that we refused to bow to the AFL's bullshit woke agenda.

27 & 19 for hopefully 10 plus isn’t horrendous - especially if Whitlock is good.
Hi all. Just catching up on the night and whilst your F1 was a heavy price to pay, that likely pick 19 + your f2 next year with so many NGA, academy and f/s's should be great points for a side for you to trade back into the 1st round at some point if your club wanted. So the real cost of the trade netting whitlock might be an f2 and a downgrade of the F1 in that scenario. Anyway, good luck next season

What finishing spot have you predicted us for the last 5 years? I reckon I’ve been closer than you. I think it’s the blind brownnosers who need their crystal balls checked.
Who cares about your prediction or mine over the past 5 years! I simply don’t think early draft picks are always the answer.

Really nice point. Easily the best r2 pick combo now

I don't care about the trade so much any more. I'm more dirty about who we gave it to.

Who at the club secretly backs the tiges?

That would have to be the best ever draft by a club. We have set them up beautifully for their next premiership team.

This is blatantly wrong. Why do people keep repeating it. You don’t know what we were asking.

Did they have the First pick of R2 2025 attached to it?

You rate Yze that highly?
