I'm happy letting everyone know that we wont match it...

As long as we actually would match it. No one can tell me that there are 38 kids in the draft better than Ben. If he wasn't a F/S (and thus other clubs put minimum time into him), and he didn't get iced at the end of the year he would go around pick 20 IMO.
How BC has dropped in the phantoms is insane. U18 AA, best player in the U17 game last year. Everyone is looking for the next DeGoey or Tracc. Carlton pick Cunners over Dunkley for this reason looking for X factor over the guaranteed best 22.

Mick Ablett on SEN reckons we should go for Langford?

Says Smith is like Butters. FOS .."is your forward of centre guy"??

Says North should go for Smillie? what?

What we can't afford is to F this up. Draper and Jagga appear bust proof and have what we need:

Draper raw pace, explosiveness, agility and clearance combined with consistent participation in accumulating and second efforts

Jagga natural accumulation, neat to good disposal, good decision making and speed and agility

Has to be one of those two.

We won't get a choice, it will be who is leftover of the 3 obvious choices which has been mentioned.

Richmond will take Jagga at 1, small chance they take FOS who just has a big ceiling and the plethora of picks they have just might sway them to swing at that.

Don't see Jagga being available.

Anyone that hasn’t looked at Jagga Smiths Champs highlights, I urge you to take 4 minutes out of your day and watch the whole video for some decent viewing.

Kid reminds me of Nick Daicos. Demands the football, is evasive and continually runs to create for his team mates.

This kid will be the next big thing and we should definitely consider him.

There’s only 3 options for us at pick 3, Smith, Lalor, Draper (in that order for me)

I’m with others, don’t see what people are seeing with FOS and he’s definitely not quick.

Everyone falls for the Dusty/Trac/JDG/Rayner archetype, surely Richmond have enough insurance from extra picks to take Lalor at 1

The sheer level of debate & discussion should tell u there is no clear no 1 & standout.

State your pick, your reasoning - both for/against & any commentary on others & put forward a solid case. Inform, educate & convince/sway not insist.

It’s a long time until the draft & It’s going to end in a knife fight long before then if people are already insisting it’s clear when it’s going obviously not.

At least make it interesting

No. It is clear.

Anyone saying Jagga should not be prioritised based on his light build...

My god this may sound rude but weight rooms do exist for this very reason if you weren't aware.

AFL players can put on 5-6kg of muscle across 12-18 months easily with a professional diet and weight routine.

It should be the least of our worries.

He's the number 1 player in the draft by a mile.
He is the closest player to Nick Dacios and the exact player we need so I've changed my preferences to Smith then Fos and Lalor

Im curious for peoples thoughts on if we are being too narrow in our focus in regards to the top 3? Interestingly, none of them have Lalor in the top 4 when most here have him at 1.

If we have our hearts set on any player that’s fine but i would hope if we can trade down and get something back and still pick them up, i hope we do it.

ESPN draft rankings.
1.Smith
2.Draper
3.Ashcroft
4.O;Sullivan

Cal Twomey
1. Ashcroft
2. Langford
3. Smith
4. O’Sullivan

Rookie me central.
1. Smith
2. Ashcroft
3. Reid
4. Langford

Which player does the brown chimp want us to draft?

From about 5 YouTube vids

He gets caught a lot from those vids also, but that’s because he’s trying to create in a tight space so not a bad thing. He’s not quick but he’s not slow either

I just think we could do with some real pace

I think the Lalor talk is based on some consistent suggestions that Richmond like him. The "Power Rankings" might have him around 5-6, but those three above for example, are ultimately the views of three individuals based on who they like, and they're not factoring in the needs or preferences of the actual club with the pick.

Twomey's final phantom is usually pretty telling, because that's the one where he factors in all the mail he gets on who certain clubs like.
