Imagine the priceless storyline if the Tigers trade up to take the first two picks and select Lalor and FOS, after having had Jagga Smith play a number of reserves games for the club with some spectacular numbers at the end of the season and overlooked him.

Carlton take the “left over” with pick three and end up with a generational talent to participate in multiple premierships, earning numerous individual accolades along the way.

IMO, Jagga is the one, compared to others, that will need additional time to build his body before he plays regular AFL.
Opposition teams will be physically aggressive towards him. We’ve seen that. Whoever drafts him, has to do the right thing and be patient.

Times have changed a bit and the targeted violence and aggression have been largely removed from the game now.
Nobody can even fart in Daicos’s direction now without him receiving a free kick and Ginnivan would have been belted out of the game by now with the way things used to be.
Rozee and Butters can run amok these days just to name a few …

You obviously haven’t been watching Walsh and Crippa over the past years.
You might be right, I guess who drafts him.

On the other hand, FOS's performance in the VFL seems to be why the tigers fans all want him

Plenty of Jagga talk in here. Are there credible reports of Carlton being interested or is it just “I want him”? If it’s just “I want him”, then really nothing in it at the end of the day.

As for the Tauru talk, if North really want him, they will take him at #2. It’d be too late to take him by their next pick imo.

Seemed to work out fine for Charlie curnow
Could be a nothing observation, but he had by far the cleanest run at it this year, so there’s a world that he has less scope for improvement.

All 3 of FOS, Draper and Lalor dealt with injury and school along with their footy this year. Jagga was purely focused on footy.

It’s an unanswererable question, but how much impact does that have?

FOS, Draper , Lalor and Smith all have scope to improve and should become competent AFL Footballers. I see Smith and O’Sullivan with the higher celling and greater scope for improvement generally, pending on so many variables it’s far too early to tell.
All 4 are decent prospects, however football environment, mentoring, coaching and possibilities of early injuries will impact the outcome of their journeys.

I mean... there's no talk that we're interested in anyone particular and Jagga is one fo the clear top 4 players in the draft. Why wouldn't we be talking about him?

I'd disagree with the first part as I believe there was talk about us being interested in FOS. If he still is available at Pick 3 (which I think he may be), I don't see us passing on him. Smith being in the Top 4 players in the draft is questionable as well, completely subjective.
