I know Langford is more a Jordan Dawson type, but I wouldn't be displeased if we selected him

Doesn’t quite have the pace of the others but I see where you’re going.

Smith vs Draper defensively is not that big a gap. Both hardly averaged over 2 tackles a game in the champs. Smith's vfl debut showed great ability to tackle, defensive running patterns and outright chasing an opponent.

He's going to impact defensively.

If Sid adds goals to his game and better use of kicking efficiency look out.

He’s the type of bloke that will work his butt off to reach those goals

And yet according to the combine FOS is both faster and more agile than Jagga.

I understand there’s a difference between testing and games but if we have the choice between Jagga and FOS and we want the more athletic one, we’re not taking Jagga

My concern with FOS is the footage I’ve seen I don’t see much of that speed and agility, doing it in games consistently by Jagga tells me it’s actually a big part of his football DNA

I think it comes down to Jagga having much greater awareness.

Being physically quick and agile is great but without awareness you often won't be in a position to use it.

I worry a lot about Finn's second efforts. They appear to be non existent. I'd have Jagga leagues ahead at present
Not worried about FOS 2nd efforts, he doesn’t get sucked in chasing the ball, he makes the first effort count & works on spread if he’s not getting the ball.
From all the highlights I’ve watched, to me he seems to read the play better than the others & make a more meaningful impact both ways.
I’m just hoping he’s still available.

Jagga is a real point of difference, he has geninue leg speed which we don't have.

l have not seen Fos demonstrate anywhere near his speed & decision making this year.

FOS was quicker in the 20m sprint than Smith, but the eye test says there isn't a lot of difference. They just move differently.

Trade out Chugga for peanuts only to spend pick 3 on Chugga 2.0?

Shocked Parks And Recreation GIF
He may be the best player in the draft, quite a ridiculous comparison.

3 + 38 FOR 6 AND 11?

2234+ 465 = 2699

1751 + 1329 = 3080

381 gap (or pick 43)

Would/should we do that?

Would the Tigers bite?
Earlier, I would take that & run…

But now, I’m emotionally attached to a top end talent - any of Lalor, Smith, FOS or Draper for me. In that order too

Don't disagree but with the cost we've paid to get up to pick 3 id be hoping for more than a minor upgrade on Kennedy.

Plus, we'd have to be completely mental to take Langford purely for his kicking and vision when Houston was there on a silver platter for us.

Houston was not for us - another hbf, big dollars (when we have guys to retain) and we need mids, KPD and half forwards

Langford would cost half a million less per year for the next 3 years
Appears to have elite disposal (something we lack) and should play for another ten years which has its advantages - and it appears he can play half forward

But it sounds like we will go with a burst from stoppages midfielder which I get but we better sort out our small forwards problem as the ball could be on the deck a bit

I would be okay with Langford but Smith is my preferred if we want a burst midfielder
