I know a good song for the happy dance arrow..…Lalor and a happy dance
I can't see a world where we take Langford. He's the opposite of everything the club has publicly stated we're looking for. When you consider the information that’s out there (media, rumour, chatter etc.), it points to:
Lalor goes to Tiges at 1
We take FOS if he gets to our pick at 3/4
If he goes before our pick, to either North, or Tiges (or Saints? However unlikely)
We’ll be deciding between Smith and Langford.
I have Jagga and FOS extremely close but I do tend to favour Jagga. Not based off highlights alone, but another reason why I favour Jagga is that he was named All Australian Captain. I’m all for another young leader at our club. His peers can’t be wrongAs exciting as highlights are I think we need to take them in context. Not hard to find 5-6 minutes of elite footage across a whole season (2 in FOS case). It gives us an idea of peak potential but that's about it.
I prefer looking at match tapes or highlights from specific matches which often include every play the player is involved in. Gives you a better idea of their best, their worst and what their regular standard is.
As an example, if you were picking based on highlights you would take David Cunningham over Sam Walsh every day of the week. But as we know Walshy is a much better player.
Zero chance Tigs go for either of those unfortunately. They might like pick 3, but not that much.If North want to build their future around Tauru (good shout). They are going to have to use pick 2. Doubt he lasts to pick 6.
Which gives us second pick of the clear top 2 mids, Lalor or Jagger. Can’t loose with either.
If Lalor’s gone and Tigers are desperate for pick 3, to over pay with pick 6 & 11 or pick 6 & 18 & 20. Then I’m seriously considering it.
I'm just glad no one brought the Cadbury favourites...
You say that, but Walshy's highlights are pretty sweet. MOTY, the goal in an empty stadium screaming F yeah, several on a string kicks inside 50 (from 22/23, doubt he had many at all this yr..) come to mindAs an example, if you were picking based on highlights you would take David Cunningham over Sam Walsh every day of the week. But as we know Walshy is a much better player.
You're sort of proving my intended point: chronic refers to persistence, not necessarily severity. Acute does as well, but severe not so much, though usually acute issues are more severe to prompt a medical intervention.Reported twice in zerhanger as Chronic pars defect Jimmie not acute.
“Draper is in Melbourne for this week's Draft Combine, however, the 2023 South Australia MVP won't take part in testing due to a chronic pars defect in his back.”
AFL Draft: Leading SA prospect clarifies Crows rumour, speaks on relationship with brother
"I don't know how that came about. I, my family, my manager have never said anything of the sort."www.zerohanger.com
AFL Draft Profile: Sid Draper
South Australia’s leading name isn’t short of interest toward the top of the board.www.zerohanger.com
Reported quote from Draper as a Chronic back injury in the Advertiser:
“Top South Australian draft prospect Sid Draper says he has “no reservations” about joining the Crows in November’s AFL national draft and is confident a chronic back injury won’t affect his football future.”

He’s a north fanKnowledgeable, or smooth-talking influencer/Essendon fan?
That was a pretty mediocre rundown full of new buzzwords I suspect I'm going to have to learn.
Fair enough, probably explains why he had a logical plan to fix Essendon's midfield issues, if at an insane price. He’s a north fan
That’s what I was thinking wick. We don’t need to do a medical and it sounds like AFL don’t allow it.This is a possibility and has crossed my mind but surely any club worth it's salt is going to have medical reports in hand of top prospects they've scouted especially if they've cited it as a reason for withdrawing from a combine.
FOS is a goal kicking mid which we don't have many of
Well that highlight vid of FOS just sealed who the best mark is out of this years top picks.
Full season highlights for Jagga Smith, the most consistent performer in this years draft pool. He was a relentless accumulator of the footy no matter the opponent or the level he played at, and displayed some elite AFL level attributes along the way. He may not ultimately end up being taken at pick 1, but he's the most risk free of the elite prospects at the pointy end of the pool.
