What I keep coming back to re Lalor, and maybe it's hopeful thinking, is that when the top 20 prospects were asked who would be the no.1 pick not 1 selected Lalor. Jagga got the most votes iirc.

The perspective of the people he played against was that there's 3 or 4 people picked over him as the no.1 pick.

Always find that interesting, I get the Tigs fans likeness to Dusty, but in terms of an actual prospect, he's not rated as highly by his peers.

Why wouldn’t North just trade with us or Adelaide then?
They wouldn’t even have to ask for much, to me it’s a easy way to improve their draft hand
Think North trade pick 2 for tigers. If they’ve been interviewing kids that are set to go at around pick 18. Unless they’re trying to trade a future first for a pick for around then

That doesn't seem like you've made a choice, seems like a toss up between 2 if not 3 still.

Difficult to make a choice when we need to wait for other sides

As the picks stand and given the information posted in the no discussion thread, and other general information, I'd say the club goes Lalor or FOS

1 Lalor/FOS
2 Tauru
3 Lalor/FOS

That could change if someone else gets a hold of pick 2, then Smith/Draper come into play

I'm not arguing that, but saying I've made a choice then proceeding to describe how you haven't made a choice tickled me a little, that's all. Wasn't trying to be rude or anything though it probably comes across that way.

1. Lalor
2. Finn
3. Jagga

(I’ll be delighted with either of the 3)
Agree with Lalor at 1, if he's there at our pick no 2nd thoughts imo.

However, outside of him I'm still torn. I think my fav player is Langford, but it's just an odd fit for us right now so I don't think it's likely.

IMO Jagga is the number one player in this draft including Ashcroft. He will make us look very silly if we don't take him.
I voted for Jagga too.
Would be stoked if we took him. Think he will make whoever he plays against look silly. Maybe not straight away.
To me, he's a "death by a thousand cuts" player, plus with the ability to also impact the scoreboard (Naicos, Sam Mitchell, Butters, Merrett)

FOS has a ceiling of Isaac Heeney or Hugh Mcluggage.

He also has major bust potential.

I had ranked him around the 10 mark in this draft but I'm moving him further down now.

Players that don't have great u18 years but great u17 years generally don't translate into stars in the league.

I'm off him completely for our pick. He's the only one I'd avoid like the plague at 3.

I’d decided on Draper as the lad I liked but this latest injury news has to be a worry.
Trust that the club are all over it in their deliberations and wish the young man all the best 👍
He's ny second choice behind Jagga.

Could the injury be a red herring promoted to keep him in Adelaide. Maybe.

The new rumours of Adelaide wanting to trade up to 2 means he's probably fine.

I also think Jagga fills more holes for us.
Early on, he can play partly as a small FWD. Would kill it there I reckon. Reads the ball off hands and off the deck so well. Plus knows where to position himself. You don't get to "accumulate" like he does without it. Crumbing to CC & H. Yes please. Defensive pressure. Gets across the ground very swiftly. Good goal sense.
The rest of the time, in the midfield, with that time increasing, as he develops.
So, early on, he can help in 2 areas of need for us.

Joel Sellwood was an all Australian as an underager and had an injury ruined top age year which saw him drop to pick 7. That turned out O.K. for the cats. It's important to ascertain how much of his "form" was injury related.

If we are to believe the gossip from the likes of Twomey etc the Tigers have him in the conversation for pick 1 and might move up to pick 2 to take him. Kangaroo are a chance at 2 as are we at 3. So 3 AFL clubs who spend vast amounts on ascertaining skill, suitability, attitude etc all rate him very highly.

I might be more inclined to follow their work than your "he didn't gave as good a season as last year and I'm not prepared to make any analysis as to why so he's out of my top 10" synopsis.

Avoid like the plague? What a rubbish statement
