Do they each take the top bunk in tandem?
Cripps gotta win a 3rd brownlow to get a game???Would this be the most hilariously strong midfield in history?
O.Hollands Cerra Walsh
Dekoning Reid Walker
E.Hollands Silvagni Cottrell Lord
He'll need a walking stick by then.Cripps gotta win a 3rd brownlow to get a game???
Good pick up 4flags. He blitzed them in NAB AFL Under-16 championships in 2014 and was considered an early candidate to be the No. 1 pick in 2016.Wasn't Samo rated as the #1 kid as a 16yo?
“There was a genuine buzz about Petrevski-Seton after the carnival. His three games on the Gold Coast that week left recruiters stunned. The way he weaved through traffic, tackled, took marks, kicked goals and did everything with a level of class and poise made him a clear standout.
"He's the best kid I've ever seen at that age," one senior AFL recruiter thought to himself. Another said the midfielder/half-forward could have been drafted that year – as a 16-year-old two years before he was eligible – and still have been selected in the top-10.”
Why is that article on the Brisbane lions website lol?Good pick up 4flags. He blitzed them in NAB AFL Under-16 championships in 2014 and was considered an early candidate to be the No. 1 pick in 2016.

Didn't say they made the wrong pick just that Judd was the no.1 pick but slipped slightly due to injury. Hawks would be more than happy, but that's beside the point.I don't think Hawthorn has any regrets selecting Luke Hodge at #1:
- 4× AFL premiership player: 2008, 2013–2015
- 3× AFL premiership captain: 2013–2015
- 2× Norm Smith Medal: 2008, 2014
- 3× All-Australian team: 2005, 2008, 2010 (c)
- Hawthorn captain: 2011–2016
- 2× Peter Crimmins Medal: 2005, 2010
- AFLPA best captain award: 2014
- AFLPA Madden Medal: 2019
Spare a thought for Fremantle - wtf were they thinking trading pick 1 to Hawthorn for Trent Croad and Luke McPharlin.
His form didn't drop in his final year prior to draft.Disagree, you can make that argument for the majority of draft "failures" then.
So he didn't drop? Meaning a highly touted junior who didn't show his best form in his u18 year was taken as a priority by GC based on earlier form, didn't become a star in the league.
Kinda proves my point.
high floor and leadership potential - he's the VC but in a similar boat to Gibbs was, when we were shit, not playing as highly as expected and made a leader before knowing how to lead.Robert Shaws gift to *. Convinced Dodoro to pick him off the back of school footy connection.
Parish, FrancisHe did make the A.A. team (on the bench ) in 2015. I've just had a look at that team, apart from Weitering it is terrible. The attack was lead by Francis and Schache in the year that Harry and Charlie were drafted. Here is the team;
O'Kearney, K.Collins, Hipwood
J.Berry, Weitering, Bonner
Keays, Hopper, K. Lovell
Parish, Francis, Balic
Ainsworth, Schache, Gresham,
Nguon, Mathieson, Partington,
I/C, Allison, Belling, Parfitt, SPS
Good effort by SOS to pick the eyes out of the draft that year. It's a pity he remembered SPS the following.
I think Bryce Gibbs was a very very good pick all things considered. Who else would you have taken from this draft - besides the obvious Joel Selwood. Travis Boak is the only one who comes close and I think Gibbs' peak was better. Scott Gumbleton, Lach Hansen, Leunberger, Thorp, Ben Reid, Armitage, Nathan Brown round out the top 10.high floor and leadership potential - he's the VC but in a similar boat to Gibbs was, when we were shit, not playing as highly as expected and made a leader before knowing how to lead.
Gibbs ended up a much better player the McGrath has so far though, although i don't think either were great picks in hindsight.
That was touted to be a super draft. Funny how things work out. Pretty much every club takes Gibbs 1 that year including Geelong so hard to class it as a mistake. Also, I think if you put Gibbs into Geelongs or Ports system he would have been a multi time all australian. At least as good as boak. Maybe not Selwood.I think Bryce Gibbs was a very very good pick all things considered. Who else would you have taken from this draft - besides the obvious Joel Selwood. As in his u18 year or his u17 year? He was drafted at the end of his u17 year. His form didn't drop in his final year prior to draft.
You do realise that in 2013 when he had already been drafted he was too young to be able to play AFL he played in the NEAFL league (in effect their reserves team at the time) and was selected in the Northern Conference team of the year on a wing. That was his top age year playing against men.As in his u18 year or his u17 year? He was drafted at the end of his u17 year.
Said that based off tapes from his previous year. You're objectively wrong. You do realise that in 2013 when he had already been drafted he was too young to be able to play AFL he played in the NEAFL league (in effect their reserves team at the time) and was selected in the Northern Conference team of the year on a wing. Malcolm Blight called him the best young player he had seen. It's a complete fallacy to say that he had a poor top age year in an attempt to make case against FOS.
As mentioned his problems started in his first AFL game when he hurt his knee and was out for 11 games.
Not sure if this fella is in play at 3 or not, but you might be keen to get a fuller picture of what's available in the range.
----
After the first half of the season Josh Smillie was flying high as most people's pick 1 favourite due to his massive frame, slick movement in traffic, clean hands, penetrating boot and ability to consistently hit the scoreboard. After a quieter than anticipated champs series Smillie lost some form through the back half of the season which has seen him slide down the boards. If his early season play is more indicative of what we can expect from Josh in the future then a team picking him in the middle or back end of the top 10 will be getting a bargain.
Just check whether he made the NEAFL team (Northern Conference) playing against men in his top age year in 2013. It kind of blows your "he had a poor top end year theory " out of the water.Said that based off tapes from his previous year. You're objectively wrong.

I just can’t get past those twig arms. He doesn’t look like he could step straight in and play against men and his frame doesn’t look conducive to weight training. I guess Skinny Lappin made it work.IMO Jagga is the number one player in this draft including Ashcroft. He will make us look very silly if we don't take him.
Ben Campo is another one I think we're underrating a bit on here. Was talked up as a potential Top 10-20 pick in his underage year, winning some accolades in his U17 year alongside Sid Draper.
This year the talk has died down, he's played less, and his draft stocks have fallen. It's hard to say with certainty exactly what the combination of factors is, was he overrated in his U17 year as a big name and put up draft board, or is he pushed down the draft boards as an U18 with people knowing he's locked away to us, so people put less time into him (and we may have told him not to go out and sell himself too hard).
It touches on some of the discussion above re FOS, Samo and others on under age form and how it translates. Is Ben Campo in the same camp? Or was his lower profile this year manufactured / indifference from the draft watches. Either way, if we can select him after Pick #38 I think we'll get a bargain, and maybe in there will be a top 10-20 range midfielder if we're lucky.
Exactly right look at all the best players in the comp Cripps Neale Bont Merrett PendleI think Jagga is just as fast as Draper, but tends to think through the contest before using his speed. Hence his superior accumulation and disposal efficiency. This is why I have Jagga ahead of Draper. Draper on the other hand is all gas no brakes. It is absolutely breathtaking when it works. Full credit to him, he's been effective at it in every level of footy he's played so far, but I do think he'll need to adjust his game at AFL level and there's a risk that he won't be as damaging.
He would be my pick at pick 3. We're crying out for elite kicks. Langford is a great kick and brilliant overhead and has a great engine to build on.Langford isn't quick over 20, but once in stride, most players don't get a hold of him and his evasiveness certainly helps in this area
Exceptional hands, vision, disposal, beast overhead and safe shot at goal
What's more impressive, he is already mature beyond his years, knowing his strengths / limitations and working well within his lane
Really is a Dawson clone, what's not to like about this kid
