Well, they wanted Houston, then it was all about FOS, then they wanted talls, then it was all about FOS again, now it's anyone of about five players and don't anyone dare mention trading down.

I think you are right.
Based on media speculation? 🙄

To me the club has had a clear plan internally, they are currently executing it and people saying we want this or want that are just guessing

Geez, can you all STOP....

I'm so confused!

The last time it felt this sick was in my younger years when I was asked the ultimate question for a young buck...

Who would you marry, Claudia, Naomi, Elle, Cindy, Christie or Linda....

Mind games.

Carlton publicly linked to Draper, maybe trying to spook Crows into trading up.

Adelaide interest in Smith leaks, suggesting they're happy to let Draper go and take Jagga instead - not so subtle suggestion that they're not gonna be lured into paying overs to get their local boy.

Pick 38 thoughts on Austin & Co are eyeing off with that pick?

Most likey the best KPD available but you never know if a bonafide first rounder slides. Austin has referenced a few times the need to find some key position strength behind the ball.

One of Harry O'Farrell, Noah Mraz & James Barrat would be a big chance if still on the board.

we've lured them into paying overs for a local boy in the past... BG#4

He seems the 'safest' pick to me - can't see him being a total bust.
There is sometimes a tendency for clubs to undervalue what is guaranteed and overvalue growth. Jagga Smith and Lalor kind of reminds me of Essendon in the Andy McGrath Hugh McLuggage year. McLuggage was the No.1 pick apparent for two years and the love for McGrath developed late. I guess people got bored of talking about McLuggage. Looking back that was definitely the wrong decision, I have a suspicion that Lalor could be the similar selection. Has a lot of upside but if I had to bet on long term careers I reckon Smith, Draper and Langford have him covered when its all said and done.

Didn't Austin mention talls before we traded the two picks we had for pick 3? I'm also sure that Houston's name came up a few times. You can say we have it all planned out, and you may be right but don't tell me they have never said anything.
I’m not saying they never said anything, I’m just saying what came out of Austin’s mouth. He was asked a lot about Houston and his response was always not overly keen, it had to suit us to make it happen.

I do recall Austin focusing on the draft and him saying that was the priority

Taking a step away from the nervous handwringing (or at least that's what i'm doing) regarding who we draft.

Did you guys all know that Leo Lombard (GC Academy Player)'s dad is former UFC and mixed martial arts Cuban fighter Hector Lombard. Here are some of Leo's dad's highlights.

Looking forward to what Leo can deliver in the first melee next season.

Yep. I think the LM's already who's taking who at this stage and are just throwing out red herrings to keep the media machine busy and generate rubbish updates to keep everyone guessing...

Don’t really see how that works. Cripps Walsh Cerra pick 3 Hewett and lord? Not many dual position players there and that’s not including the other rotations of Elijah fog possibly doc who can pinch in there. 6 mids not including wingmen or ruckmen is a lot

I’m happy to see it though, just means someone is getting sacrificed somewhere else
I am hoping that you are right and pick 3 is a walk up start because he is just THAT GOOD. Sam Walsh style.

He will have to be to push Georgie Boy out of the team, he is very underrated by some.

Last season he was IMO close to our No.2 mid (unfortunately mainly because Sam was struggling with that back)

And yes, Lord does look like he is ready to get in there full time, all be it off a very small sample........ :thumbsu: 👏
