That's a game plan issue rather than personnel
Yeah maybe, but I would bet money that there isn't a coach in the league outside of Malthouse that says to their players "go super slow, wait until everyone is set up, then go long down the line and just punch it out of bounds if we can't take a mark".

I wonder how much the players are slowing things up trying not to turn over the ball only to invite defensive pressure?

Mind games.

Carlton publicly linked to Draper, maybe trying to spook Crows into trading up.

Adelaide interest in Smith leaks, suggesting they're happy to let Draper go and take Jagga instead - not so subtle suggestion that they're not gonna be lured into paying overs to get their local boy.
Clever games being played by Austin to make sure we get FOS at #3?

Can we send Charlie out to show Taj a good time on Tuesday night?

But the club that he’d most like to head to is Carlton given his father Trent played 61 games in navy blue and 17 games for Collingwood in his six-year AFL career.
“That would be ideal, I'd love that as well (to head to Carlton),” Hotton said.
“If that could get done somehow, I'd be stoked. I'm a Carlton man.”

If not lets hope GWS take him and we can welcome him home in a few years.

Plenty of talk on here stating Draper is the guy we need going into 2025. I’m not so sure and would believe the club are looking well beyond a sugar hit in 2025.

Langford imo will become the best player from the draft class and screams superstar. Yes, of course he isn’t as quick as many but still can go when required and his possessions are elite.

If we are wanting more speed though, Jagga is a much more complete player than Draper.

My preference assuming Lalor is gone:
Langford
Smith
FOS

I’m not interested in anyone else as a pick 3

If we pick Draper it wont be for a sugar hit. The club will pick who they believe is the best long term player.

I'm with ya Juddy....with the qualifier that if Lalor is still available, he's on the short list.

But either one of Langford, Smith or FOS would have a tent pole in the ol' grundies on draft nite. I've actually got a bit of a leaning toward Jagga over the other two....he's got a fair bit of N Daicos about him mixed in with a dash of Butters, and a sprinkling of Cotchin. Langford and FOS also have massive upside imo, so wouldn't be disapppointed in the slightest with either.

Still not convinced with Sid....sorry, but I'm not.....

Should be some good KPD’s and KPF/Rucks around our pick…

Personally if we are going for a defender I’d like

1. Clancy Dennis 196cm WA
2. Harry O’Farrell 197cm VIC

3. Charlie Nicholls 197cm WA
Really like this kid he’s a talented duel position player at both ends, start off as a 3rd tall then potentially as he matures will become a genuine KKP…

KPF/RUCKS
Sims 199cm VIC
Stumpf 199cm VIC
Gerryn 199cm WA
Burmeister 199cm VIC
Alot of choice. Definitely need another ruck/fwd to develop under tdk.

Draper is now a sugar hit... A pick 3 18 year old is a sugar hit 🤔🤔🤔🤔
No, that’s not what I said! Some posters have said they want him as they believe he can make a big difference to us in 2025. Which he could. I just don’t think he is a top 5 pick and think there’s too many issues in his game to be considered top 3

Very, very interesting.

When I read the phantom draft from the Age that had us taking Jagga, my interpretation was that they had gleaned the information from other club’s recruiters (rather than our own).
That’s how the media all do the phantom draft (the most accurate ones with the best contacts anyway). They ask all 18 clubs who the others are taking, whilst they all play mind games to mask who they after.

Cal gets the best information from the clubs, It’ll be interesting to see what his phantom is predicting.

Without offending, the caveat is your 2 minute video highlights watching appraisal is that he is not top 3.

My video highlights watching says he fills our greatest need just in front of FoS who is next. Smith doesn't fill any need. Langford is potentially best available at a highlights video guess but we have more pressing needs.
