Port look so lost, when teams ball movement is ordinary it plays into the cats hands cause they set up so well.

Not that I think he's ever had a flag-worthy list to work with, but Hinkley has surely gotta go. His teams simply can't do anything in finals.
Hypothetically, if we swap the blokes in the coaching box would the result be different?

Port certainly have more talent than this Geelong team.

I agree watching Port here tonight I also wonder how bad we were. Rare. Port were good but we were worse than poor.
We had checked out & our players were all in protect mode. Too many Port players are not picking up their men. Too many like to run forward but not back. Horne- Francis is great if he has a chance at a possession but as soon as he loses the ball he stops. Rioli, and several mids the same. Wines can't keep up with his opponent. Scott managed the match ups well & got what he wanted. He must have been jumping for joy when Wines matched up on Holmes. Holmes is just running off him. They decided not to tag Danger. That is baffling. But maybe due to getting flogged on turnover.

Geelong are not that talented but they play a system that doesn't need overly talented players. It's all about moving the ball quickly on turnover. They will often be second to the ball at a centre bounce but they will hassle the Port player out of the ball & cause turnover. They run the ball like an NRL team, in a line across the ground. If you want to stop that you don't target the player with the ball you shut down his options like a good NRL team does. Forwards & mids have to get back to cover.

If you put them under lots of pressure they will give the ball up. But Port's pressure is third rate. They live a lot of keepings off. So do the Cats. Neither like true pressure. Our game against Port was our worst pressure game of the season. We were well under AFL average of 180, only 164 average for the game.

All year I haven’t rated Geelong at all and they’ve kept on proving me wrong. Now they’re steamrolling Port and yet for some reason I’m STILL not convinced.

Am I this bad of a judge?

We were in a slump and we also knew that for the last 6 weeks we only needed a couple of wins to lock up top 2. So didn't really try
We were awful, sure, but it started with a complete inability to cope with the pressure Port applied. They were manic and never let up.
