I think my favourite kick in footy, other than a good old-fashioned drop punt from about 50 out, is the long kick from centre half back out to a forward out the back on the half forward flank.
Just something so awesome about a diagonal kick that opens the whole field up and also knowing the vision and confidence required to execute it. It's so satisfying to watch

Its rubbish and the longer the AFL keep playing the highest level of Australian Rules Football on grounds where there are more cars in the car park or sheep in the paddock outside than actual spectators in the ground the more embarrassing they look.

Just mentioned this 45 degree kick in our match autopsy thread and as you say it spreads the opposition. Takes purpose in the execution of the kick but very heavily relies on the receiver working his backside off working to space to be given it. That is why we were being trumpeted as the best kicking side in it in the first 3 weeks. Sadly that preparedness to work to space has dropped of a bit and hence we are disposing and receiving under pressure a lot of the time.

I think the problem is its a massive ask to bring what we did against Melbourne/Pies week in week out regardless of the opposition.

We are not going to win every game in fact no team in this comp are but I wish to **** we would get rid of this shitting the bed against inferior opposition. You are not going to be up every week of a long season but come with an attitude every week that is good enough to win the games you should.
