Seriously who gives a flying Fig Tree whether its Bonner or Bonnar. Why do people get so hung up on this stuff. It’s a footy forum, not a spelling bee.
Clarke or Clark? WGAF.
Why not just spell it correctly in the first place. Why let all standards slip? Why don’t we all just go into the streets nude and fling shite at each other?

Thanks for the spelling typo.

So what’s your point again if you think he is in fact best 22 for us?

Why are you putting words in my mouth? Where did I say he is best 22?

All I said was that "no one is saying Bonner cannot be in our best 22", which implies that he's not quite there yet, but has the potential to get there.

My point is that there is a lot of focus on what he's good at, and not enough questioning of why he was delisted by Port and rejected by 16 other clubs. Our half backs and wings are already stacked, so how are you going to fit him into our side? Sinclair, Nas, Stocker, Webster; then Hill, Wood, Henry, Wilson.

With a man in the Whitehouse!

Doesn't matter if its a footy forum or an academic essay. There is nothing wrong with having some standards. It’s not that difficult to get the basics right.

As for names, that's even easier. We're all just helping each other to get the new ones right, because we look a bit ignorant when we cant even get our own players' names right. The question is why you have a problem with that.

Standard practice in Ballarat. Do you wear clothes in WA?

Some people aren’t great spellers. It’s no big deal. Sun will still come up tomorrow.

No one is saying you are not allowed to spell incorrectly. No judgement here.

There is a difference between those who don't know how to spell specific words and those who don't care. The corrections are to help the first group. If you're in the latter group then just scroll on brother, scroll on.

Thanks mate. I’ll take that on board. You’re actually being serious. As I said WGAF.

Some of us do give a **** that's the point, but anyway it doesn't really matter does it? There's all types here, from people who live with the written word to those who have spent their lives away from it.

You spell however you want, petal. For the people that didn't know and do care, it's Clark not Clarke and Bonner not Bonar or Boner or Bonnar or Banana.

I don’t think he was rejected by 16 other clubs. He chose St Kilda. Probably because they have been trying to get him across for 3-4 years and he became available and they could not believe their luck. A 90+ game player from a side predominantly in the top half of the comp and top 4 in some of those years.

I don’t think Port necessarily let him go because of deficiencies but because he was a luxury in really the only two spots he can play HB/Wing and they needed list spots for the two rucks and key position players they chose to bring in.

I think he probably gets into the backline rotation with us as apposed to the wing/high half forward rotation. He may take Webster’s spot or allow Sinclair to play a bit more in the middle.

I still find the starting midfield group a bit unclear for round 1 ATM.

I just think he is a great bargain get for us as he’s a very good player at his best. Is he perfect no but a very good player with high IQ and skills which has been a pressing need for us. Were Wood and Stocker perfect no, but have been great pick ups and apparently 16 other clubs didn’t want them or did they just choose us over the others interested

Great point, it's a slippery slope - this is exactly how Nazi Germany started!

Exactly, someone was complaining about the dews and we know what happened next.
A lot of layabouts with nothing better to do than to cause trouble.

Turns out it's the clerk at Moorabbin who has the wet spaghetti arms. Fancy spelling it Clarke... Had us all thinking it was Clark. Nah, spelling's not important.
Cheers for clearing that up for us Luke :D
