Over to the Game Day thread …

His cork and whatever he's carrying. He's been fighting something for 2 weeks
Yep, come back and dominated. Has been off the last two weeks.
Think he’s carrying something other than the cork from Saturday.
Wouldn’t be suprised if he has some “tightness” in the calf playing on that cow paddock for the last couple of games

Ashton Moir Must be done chance. 3.1 goals today. 13 disposals and 7 tackles. He’s bringing the pressure.

Worst thing we could do for him is pick him after one decent defensive showing.

Our senior team is built on a foundation of defensive work-rate - week in, week out. The standard slipped against Adelaide and we paid the price.

Moir can and will get his chance, but I'd want to see 4-6 weeks of sustained defensive intent in addition to hitting the scoreboard before that happens. Doesn't need to be getting double digits tackles every week or anything like that, but it needs to be a month or more where he is working hard and getting to the right positions defensively across four quarters. Seniors can't afford a young kid coming in with a bit of strut only to let the opposition consistently waltz through half back on their way to the other end cause he can't/won't bust a gut to go with his man.

Good thing with Moir is we know the talent is there. We don't need him to kick bags at VFL level to prove he can kick 2-3 goals in the seniors. All he needs to do is prove that the application and work-rate are up to scratch, and once he's done so he'll get his chance. Then if he maintains the rage at senior level he could become impossible to drop.

Yep, watched ressies yesterday - kid has all tricks, his class shines through.
Needs to get that dog in him to play in Voss’s team.
His tackle in the 4th? Quarter was fire.
Keeps building, and is exactly what we need as the Martin replacement.

Harry, Charlie, Elijah, Moir, Martin, Durdin, Fogarty, Motlop, Owies, Fantasia, with a resting TDK, Cripps, Kennedy would be as good if not better than anything out there

Weitering has a good record in Hawkins as he can match him for strength. Remember Cameron kicking 6 on Young last year. I’d play kemp on him. Not convinced Young has a match really. Think Rohan will also come in for them.

Miers is someone we have to put time into. Best kick to advantage inside 50 in the comp
Cottrell to Miers and team effort of Kemp and Hollands on Cameron.

Cameron is an impossible matchup for anyone really.

If we want to improve, we need to replace Orazio.
He has had a good go at it for very little return.

Hoping that Fog may come up, if not then give the kid Moir an opportunity.

He is more like Martin also in that he can play that medium forward role and take a mark.

His form in the two's yesterday warrants it also I feel.

Continuity.
If we have no forced changes (assuming Williams and Weiters are all good), then we stay as we are. As tempted as I'd be to drop Orazio, we need to give guys a chance to build. Worst case, maybe drop Orazio to sub and elevate Carroll, who was unlucky to be relegated after the Freo game.

Orazio has given little. Gets brushed aside easily and minimal penetration in his kicking. Back to the 2's.

They have one of the best systems and one of the most balanced squads in the league.

Plenty of ways they can beat us.

They can match our talls up forward with their tall defenders.

We need to dominate them in the midfield and have our forwards lock the ball in when its down there to beat them.
Really?

Who are their dominant key backs?

SDK still very raw and hardly in sparkling form.

Stewart out.

Jack Henry? 192cm...

SDK on Harry. Harry would love that match up.

Who gets Chuck? Blicavs?

Who gets Tom?!

Cats have 5 defenders that can intercept mark. They ground the forwards and then come in with extra support. Works especially well on the narrow KP.

Cameron will just try and drag Weitering up the ground anyway, so we may as well let Young go with him, and let Weiters stay in his comfort zone vs Hawkins

Also Young on Hawkins would be a disaster. Hawkins would just stand in the goalsquare and body him into oblivion.
And Weitering might just try to go with him. Really irks me to see him standing the mark on our hff while the key forward is running back to goal. Happens a bit to often fory liking.
