I’ve had an enjoyable year and my aggressive trading has rewarded me thus far but I expect to drop out of the top 100 come seasons end. The down side to upgrading early is you never know which players will maintain their form and be a top 6 in their line. Good example would be getting Young a few months ago but now wishing he was Dale/Sinclair, getting Steele but then he reverts back to his inconsistent ways.

A few poor trades like getting rid of my boy Whitfield at his bye or paying top dollar for Serong hurt too. Ah well lessons learnt.

I prefer keeping the extra trade. If you make it another month with no serious injuries you can luxury upgrade Steele (or preferably Green who escapes serious scrutiny here) but more importantly any good rookies pop up you can sideways a dead rook to them for cover.

That is the way I’m leaning but it depends on Sexton keeping his spot too. I’ll struggle for 18 if he doesn’t play

Get LDU - and hopefully he’ll help you stay in the top 100

Sully to Hutchinson
Freijah to McKay
Green to Wardlaw
If I had more trades I’d load the Green/Greene combo into a double barrel rocket propelled cannon and fire those two campaigners into the sun.

So glad I dodged the Luke Ryan and Simpkin bullets on the weekend as well.

Ryan will be a luxury sideways at best now.

Most will hold green because he plays this week.
It's now or never with Wardlaw he's going up this week and green is going down.
I hate trading premos.
Lucky green isn't a premo lol

Green is at M9 for me once we are back to full lineups.

I’ll just have to play the looping game and hope for the best.

Clay just a placeholder for a rookie who is named to get it up to 18 for this week. Even though he’s injured will be grabbing that Saad bloke from Essendon so I have the DPP swing with Yeo as backline cover. Got 5 trades left so will in all likelihood be going Freijah and Clark -> Laird + rookie to finish the team off leaving 3 trades in the bank.

Gonna have to just put up with a couple dodgy premo’s (looking at you Tom Green)

Ridley BCampbell (as a placeholder for the minute but DPP is nice) Hutchinson in

Aleer Sulivan Moyle out

6 trades with Green Oliver Stewart Fish and Sexton as potential issues. 127K itb

Everyone going on Caldwell, Curnow etc. wouldn't you guys prefer to wait a week and have Moore, fisher, Rankine and Jackson between f4 - f6. Obviously flanders, Heeney and zorko are locked for top 3, but the 4 names mentioned above are surely better.

Already got Jackson and Fisher so for me it's between Caldwell, Moore & Rankine. The latter two is obviously 100k more than Caldwell which would cost me another trade that I would prefer to save in case of injuries.

They both have their own issues (Moore super inconsistent and needs to kick 2-3 for a decent score, Rankine hammy and having Nicks as his coach). Take out his sub affected 58 against WC, Caldwell is averaging 92 which I'll take for a $450k F6 with DPP.

does caldwell keep his scoring when parish returns? think that low score against WCE was when parish went really well

Am I mad for blowing all my cash and going Lloyd Johnston to Jordan Ridley?

Forwards are still a mess with 3 more to upgrade, and my bottom 2 'premium' mids are killing me.

Thoughts?

Why not upgrade Brown instead? Schoey should be available for next week as viable cover

Probably the first one, and then if Sexton is dropped / role change with Powell back you could do Jhye Clark downgrade and Sexton > Curnow or another forward premo as 23rd man instead (can cover all lines due to Fisher DPP), or alternatively something like Steele/Green > Rozee to free up the cash if you think he'll score better.

Going for some PODs

Moyle to De Koning
Powell to Pickett
Sullivan to El-Hawli (need as much cash as possible and the def/mid gives me a bit more flexibility)

3 trades left, 1 upgrade to go and $113k itb. I'll probably only end up with 1 trade remaining because I've been too wasteful with them

Yes, I could do that - would leave me just under 180k spare.

I like the idea of having viable cover on the bench, hence not trading Brown. But you’re right, if Schoenmaker can hold his spot it becomes more attractive.

Not at all. Usually very clean by foot and a great intercept mark. Kick outs and loose ball get gull chips a massive boost to his potential scoring also.

I would have got Ridley this week but it would mean leaving either Yeo/Daicos/Sinkers on the DEF or MID pine post Round 15 and wanted to keep those premos for swings at D6/M8. I may have to upgrade either Touk Touk or Green to get Ridley later.

Apparently Ridley has recently opened a holistic therapy meditation studio with Andrew McGrath. I hope for holders and also my future trading plans, that it has a positive influence on his injury prone body.

As long as he stays away from James Hird's sheep placenta injections he should be able to stay on the park.

I've been planning for weeks to pull the trigger on King Gull but his weekend score leaves me quite the conundrum.
It was originally Brown/Sully/Frasier > Ryan/rook/rook and team complete for now (Stewart, Green and Sexton are all luxury for a later date).

But with such a huge breakeven for Ryan, I could fade him for a couple of weeks and hope he drops another 40k+(also hold Freijah who should moo another 25k+) and bring in Ridley instead this week with only two trades burnt

12 trades left (2 boosts) and $96k in bank

Any thoughts appreciated.

Yeah, not doubting him as a player or scorer. I’m very keen to bring him in.

It was more about team structure than anything else.

I share your sentiments but mine are reserved for Sam Flanders as I'm keen to bring him in.

According to Footywire he has a 100% chance of making his breakeven this week and he hasn't scored below 100 all year. :sunglasses:

It has hurt my SC squad not having him.

Hopefully the little bumfluff moustached campaigner can keep up his seagull chip collecting prowess this weekend.
