I’ve locked in Z. Reid + Z. Fisher > T. Berry + J. Billings to bank $148,200 this week.

Given that I’ve got Daicos, Stewart, Sheezel and Young as my D1-4, would it be worth going N. Martin > J. Steele this week as well seeing as we’re all banking on Martin to be D5/6 which would ultimately only leave 1 more spot for the likes of Sicily, Sinclair, Ryan & Houston?

You can do Fartin to Steele next week if Martin goes belly up .

I was keen to keep Martin, however playing at the postage stamp SCG this weekend against arguably the best team in the comp right now, no room to move and harder to find targets under a lot of pressure. I can easily see another 60-70 score an that's not a problem I want to deal with next week!!

If the game was at the MCG, it might be a different decision.

Go on .. want did you do ....?

No, he’s not for this week.

Next week though I don’t see an issue with it. You don’t always have to wait for someone to be ‘on the bubble’.

That’s not always possible and you can shoot yourself in the foot and miss out on a good cash generator if you sit and wait.
You'll have more pressing issues than going early on a rookie next week.

Much more important to get the best ones about to have a price rise.

Tossing up Fisher to Heeney or Billings (don't think I'll be holding as I've got a dubious one in Martin anyway). Despite the extra bye thinking that the extra keeper in Heeney is the way to go?

FWIW, Fisher is my F2 lol (Flanders F1)

The backline scores for Dees at the SCG werent that bad.....

Plus its going to live down in their back line this week if they play like they did last week

That was my initial thought, but with the bubble boys of D’Ambrosio, Dempsey, McKercher, Sharp to potentially bring in next week, could it be worth just pulling the trigger now - I know I can’t have them all.

Fair call and I could absolutely be wrong! I'll need to cop it on the chin if Martin goes 120 this weekend haha

I would also argue that the Dees defenders are much better than the Bombers.

To Billings or not to Billings, That is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep,

Etc, etc.

He has burnt me quite a few seasons but the cash he could generate would be very useful. So torn. Argh

Everyone ripping their hair out to find a way to get Peeney in…

Then Parker and Adams and eventually Mills come back and the kent goes back to the forward pocket and spuds the rest of the year- seen this episode before…
did you miss the episode from 2 years ago where he played 22 games and averaged 108?

peens is in brownlow contention form atm. mills is still some way away and could play defence like he has previously. parker could just as easily play half forward upon his return. adams wont impact heeney as theyre two completely different players.

i wouldnt tear up the carpet to bring isaac in. but id definitely trade a spud to him (looking at you fishy).

Logically, I should trade in Hore - but, something is pointing me to Coffield.
His JS concerns me. But, WBDs need more talls not less talls in defense

It's very marginal, as we are only talking about a rookie - but, it all adds up.

Terry Berry price goes up this week scoops
Yeah, think I'll go Terry Berry, can get to him fairly easily. Dimma seems to be pumping his tyres up.
Bye Rd slightly unsaucy.

Biggest tradeout the week for Scoops:
Out: 4 bastard pine trees on the old.man's property.
Shit wood, non-natives, spiky, horrible bastards to chop down and chop up.
Gunna massacre a couple more of the pricks later on before watching us cop another touch up tanite.

No need to trade either in this week.

Pine tree's are so shit. Burn like paper, ruin the soil. Half of NZ is covered in the bloody things.

Kill the bastards Scoops

not sure if this is too reactionary but think this for this week:

It was 101 2 years ago (still good of course but worth clarifying).

and he appeared to be carrying something last year.

Over those last 2 years, he has had 12% and 13% CBA attendance (so very minor and almost exclusively a forward). He's had 1 game of over 50% CBA attendance across all of 2022 and 2023. He got less time that Parker and Warner of course but also Mills, Rowbottom, Gulden, Papley and even Sheldrick when he played.

Whilst Parker and Adams are imminent, he has obviously moved up the pecking order regardless. Rowbottom, for example, attended 55% of CBA's last year (2nd highest mid, only behind Parker and ahead of Warner!). It's similar for 2022 - Rowbottom attended 50% of CBA's. This season, he has rotated more forward and is only attending 37% of CBA's, despite several fewer mids being available. Papley and Gulden are also attending no extra volume of CBA's either - there percentages have stayed the same whilst Heeney has gone from the 8th banana (yes, that's right, 8th) to the No 1 attending mid this season. Even if you exclude Parker and Mills, Heeney has gone from 6th (behind Warner, Rowbottom, Gulden, Papley and Sheldrick) to the No 1 attending mid ahead of all of them.

IN other words, I suspect that even when those guys return, Heeney is likely to see much more mid time than we have seen in the past. Add to that that he is in a forwardline with very few premium options this year and will score large as the main man until they return and I think he is a very good trade in.

Embarrassed to admit this but I have Fisher and am "tearing my hear out" to get Heeney in tbh (for the above reasons) as I don't have the cash for a straight trade and don't have anyone else I'm overly keen to downgrade. At the moment, I've done Amon to T. Berry to afford Fisher to Heeney (and $226K for trades next week including Gibcus to Ambosio). Problem is, I've already said why I like Amon as a pick (doesn't miss games, will get DPP, should average 95+) but I don't have anyone else to facilitate the trade. I'm sure iof someone else asked I'd probably advise to hold trades and let Heeney go but with the above and the extra trades, he is might tempting.

Fisher > Billings locked in

For the other, is it better to trade Lazzaro or Gibcus to Tom Berry

If I trade Gibcus, then I'm moving in from someone who definitely needs to be moved on, but I lose any d > m link which may be handy next week.

Alternatively, if I trade Lazzaro, I may miss a spike game from a player with JS and don't get to see a second game of data...

Decisions....

Gibcus for me. Links are handy but this is why they're handy - you get to move trade out the right player. More links will come.

Trading out a dead rook vs trading out a player with 1 poor score and the chance for another look (who will still gain $ after that) is an absolute no brainer for me (especially with the dearth of good rookie defensive options to otherwise trade your Gibcus/Reid to)
