AFL app says Serong is 193cm & Frost is 194cm, would 1cm really be that much of a disadvantage?

Phillips is 197cm, but I think Serong is a much better footballer and has been outstanding at Box Hill.
Yeah, that was the joke.
Similar to someone losing all ability if they have to stand 30m closer to goal.
I'm sure the selection team will know the pros/cons and whoever they select will perform admirably.

Has The Cholls Royce Ever played defence? Maybe he would thrive great size and competitor!
More than Chol, it is Reeves I would punt on if no good options exist and then DGB.

As of now I am happy for Easy to get the role.

If role is clear to sit ON the FF and stay inside our D50, surely Reeves or DGB can do that and have enough tank for it.

Reeves over last few BH games is trying to be lot more mobile and trying to impact soon after his taps & then get to next contests, I can see he is trying to adapt to changes. He is also lot bigger now. I feel like he can impact like Rory Lobb.

You want Reeves to sit at FF?

Thank god you arent Sam Mitchell

Danger game as they are bipolar (they can play very poorly and very well). Their supporters dislike of their coach is a weird wild card.

Newcombe is now hyper-elite and will need him and Worps to get in there for the win. With Meeky in full health, I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do Friday night.

History is on Ports side (QF big losers are generally next-week winners) but I’m confident.

If we get through, the confines of the SCG will do our spread and run game plan no favours. Making them go the long way around will occupy our heads for an entire week.

Good luck and safe travels to all the Hawk fans driving west this week. Enjoy Adelaide - it’s a lot of fun.

If Day is deemed fit to play, could he be the only in? Could a few moves be made in the backline to cover for the loss of Frosty without bringing in Serong or Phillips? Would it send a message of no confidence in them? I think Serong has deserved a chance and comes in.

Port will be fired up by their insipid performance and the media in Adelaide reminding them of their poor performances in finals, I'm expecting them to play really good footy to prove the doubters wrong, our motivation isn't as strong, we have to make up for us going full ret..... defensive in the last quarter last time we played which gave Port the W.

We need to be switched on and get the game on our terms until the end

DANGER GAME.

Port will come out firing to prove a point, but if we can stand up to the pressure keep with them and even get ahead, they will drop off fast.

It's vital we have a fast start to snuff out their motivation and sew doubt

Really? Our motivation isn't as strong? Rubbish.

Our entire team defense is built around denying I50’s and only conceding shallow entries.

Last line of defense is only being reached if we’re getting smashed up the ground - at which point we’re in trouble either way - or the opposition are bombing it long and high over the other layers. In that case Easy is probably the best option. Reads the flight well, can clunk marks or fist away to the boundary.

There’s definitely an argument to be made for Serong too but recent history suggests we’ll make the decision that creates the least amount of disruption to other lines.

TM is a fairly good journo but I highly doubt he would know ! It’s Monday and someone has told him Phillips is coming in ?!
All scenarios will be considered- don’t discount Serong. But I don’t think it’s as cut & dried as TM is making out
HTF would TM know this, more guess work.

i suppose he has 50/50 chance of getting this right - it's either the Big Easy or Serong.

There is something about TM that makes me changes channels when his smug head appears.

A club legend is playing his 300th and Dylan Moore is playing his 100th. The motivation from the boys will be very strong.

Wonder if Sam will be tempted now to bring in CJ for Finn or Morrison so we can have a defensive winger with size to provide some additional aerial support?
If the dogs could not beat Hawthorn in the air Port are certainly not going to. This will be won by Ports small brigade going berserk if they are to win - JHF, Butters, Rozee, Rioli, .....

Agree. I have not watched much Box hill, but the comments seem to indicate that Serong is closer to a like for like replacement for Scri/Sic/Weddle. Given they are all playing we do not need a like for like replacement for any of them.

Phillips is the last full back standing.

Agree. Port are all midfield. Neutralise them in the midfield, as Geelong did brilliantly, and they have nothing else. Compared to the Dogs and in fact all the other sides remaining, their tall forwards are rubbish. If Butters misses, that would be huge. He drove their comeback against us.
