We all still have PTSD from the Callum Coleman-Jones debacle plus last year's pick swap shemozzle with Port so the degree of anxiety here around what's rumoured is entirely justified.

Other clubs must be laughing at our desperation and ineptitude. It is peak Fremantle/Gold Coast in terms of willingness to pay overs.

If it gets us Houston, then it'll be worth it

Only for Carlton to offer 12 and trump us. You would want to have that Houston deal locked away if you are throwing a F1 plus something else for Pick 13.

Then we have given the farm for Pick 13. The kid we use it on better have Sheezel levels of talent, because we will have given up a good pick next year for him.

Gold Coast will end up getting more for Pick 13 than what we will get for splitting Pick 2, let that sink in.

Desperation is the understatement of the year if we are doing anything close to what is reported.

I'm starting to feel slightly worried. Keep F1, for the love of god don't trade it away for 13 and a second. It's odds on going to be a top 3 pick based on our last 5+ years, no way you can project massive improvement until we actually start to show some. Also hope that 25 for Daniel and 50 isn't real good lord

Where would pick 48 end up after the f/s and academy kids?

Obviously still a lot of pick shuffling to go on, but from where things stand currently...

* probably lose 28, 31, 40, 46 to get Kako

Brisbane probably lose 32, 34, 42, 43, 45 for Ashcroft.

GC probably lose 23, 29, 41 for Lombard

Maybe Camporeale and Marshall bring it in a bit further.

So 48 likely becomes something like 35?

Sliding from 25 to 35 doesn't sound horrific.

Ideal trade scenario conclusion for me is

darling, Parker, Huston using pick 25 on the best available kid and retaining a pick in either this years first round (top 15) or next years (top 10) by either splitting 2 or splitting our F1st for 2 picks

Do you think father sons and academy kids play in different u18 comps and have different coaches and development pathways?

I understand your point about who is available, but if who is available is a weaker overall pool of players because you've taken out academy and father sons, then picks are also not as valuable.
I just gave you names of guys in that range who are all great prospects that will be available even after we are pushed back 5 or so spots. If you had watched the pool this year you’d be keen as mustard for any kid in the top 30-35.

Shhh... You're interrupting the meltdowns with logic

Could’ve done pick 2 for 9 and a future first

If someone came to you with #9 in 2024 & #11 in 2025 for our #2, you'd reject it out of hand. Sliding 7 spots is too far for a blue chip pick, with no guarantee the 2025 Essendon first rounder is any good or even in the top 10.

Our offer wouldn't be pick13 alone

The Brady focus on this board is ridiculous. Clarko and Viney are behind every call just as much, if not more than Brady is.
Eh? If so, we have a problem.

Rawlings is the list manager, Thursfield is the recruiting manager. Clarko is the head coach, he should be telling Rawlings and Thursfield the players or types of players he needs to execute his game plan, he shouldn't have any involvement in the trades themselves. And if he tries to get involved, Viney should be telling him to stick to his lane.

I guarantee you 100% this is all coming from Clarko and Viney.

Yes I am against trading 25 and 44 for that very reason
