I hear ya,
I simply don't trust any staff member at the club at the moment. They need to show drastic improvement. I honestly can't believe how uncompetitive they are, and yet we seem to just think next year will be better.
we've picked up Darling who can't leap, and still stuffing around with Parker. yet still haven't addressed glaring needs like pressure forwards, something needs to change.

And we shouldn’t trust em

But a lot of players have been told strongly to work really hard in this up coming preseason or **** off

It's very clear there's a specific strategic direction inside the club that is very different from fan expectations this year

It's hard to believe that something this drastic wouldn't have everyone, from Brady to Clarko to Viney to the board, all on the same page.

Im not saying it's right or wrong but I also think ppl need to consider this bigger picture stuff before they come in here foaming at the mouth over Rawling alone
This is true. Clarkson and Viney would be driving this as much as Rawling. :stern look

North Melbourne had its initial proposal for Caleb Daniel rejected by the Western Bulldogs. The Roos floated Pick 25 for Daniel & Pick 48.

I blame Farren Ray.

We could have selected Houston in the 2015 rookie draft but went with Fray instead. Granted every club overlooked him with about 5 of their picks but I don’t care. Embrace Revisionism!

IF THE PROPOSED TRADE IS TRUE..
We're offering pick 25 for Daniel & 48
THEN..
48 goes to Swans for Parker
=
Two former premiership F&B's for pick 25 (which could end up 30+ after F/S and academy).

Can live with that.

Mate Ray Farren wasn't much better! The 2 of them have set this club back 10 years!

Decent point. Sum of the individual parts might more or less match up, but losing 25 at all is still a bit of a bitch.

Unfortunately the gumbies in charge are looking to give up more.

I would be happy for you to take over. All of your suggestions have been 100% better than what the media are telling us we have on the table.

Welcome back mid table darkness my old friend.

Only this club would go through the hard yards of a complete rebuild only to **** it up in one trade period. Peak lunacy.

In three years time, Dan Houston will be 30. A year younger than Lachie Neale and Toby Greene this year. Larkey, Logue and Zurhaar will be 29, LDU and Xerri 28, Scott 27, Comben 26, Powell 25, Curtis and Archer 24, Sheezel and Wardlaw 23, McKercher and Duursma 22, our top pick(s) from this year 21.

Bringing in high-quality players who are in the 26-28 range now will quicken our move into the finals window and actually ensure we get there. Houston is one of the best in the comp in a role that is crucial for the style Clarko wants to play.

Yes giving away a high draft pick has an element of risk, but so does the draft overall. Houston was rookie draft #45 in 2015. If that national draft was taken again he'd be top 10. Port were a winner of that draft lottery, we can benefit from that now.

Long-term future talent isn't our issue because as Sheezel and Wardlaw mature, players are going to want to come and play with them provided the team has improved. Current and near-term talent is the issue we need to address to get out of this hole and ensure improvement happens.
Putting all those positives aside, simply landing a big fish that 2 of the big 4 want would be a huge confidence booster for the club, list and the club’s abilities to groom and trade future targets. It would say that we are serious about improving. Paying a little extra would probably be worth it.
