It would be an almighty coup if we pulled off 15 and 16 for F1. But for 13 alone we were looking to trade f1 (plus extras) to GC so I’d be astonished if GWS agreed to this when there is negligible difference between 13 and 15 in this draft.

I'm confused as to why gws would want to be out of this draft? They have just lost what 4 players? Perry cumming peat and Haynes? Granted Haynes wasn't playing much but other 3 were

I would generally agree because its a top 5 pick next year even with 6-8 wins.
But we should be open to anything if it gets us the players we want. Teams trading F1's will become frequent to get kids in the teens as these academy and F/S bids are going to push 2nd rounders back into mid/late 20's by the looks of it.
Two years of trading futures opens up lots of possibilities as well. Freo's 14 and F1 is another option vs GWS 15/16.

Freo aren't going to give up their F1 either surely... they would be happy taking ours but would still need their own for the Warner play

Our top 5 F1 from us next year plus their own 2026 F1 & 2027 F1 could all be packaged up for Warner next year.
Two years of futures can be traded next year. I doubt we'd take 14 (will move back further with bids) and a F2 for our F1.

Aren't we wanting both though, not one?

We haven't been linked to their picks at all, it's more a hypothetical of what we'd trade the F1 for.
It sounds like GWS don't want to trade out but would be open to bundling them to move up the order.
I think I mixed up the comments with the Freo list manager.

Is 2027 F1 worth anything? When does Tassie Tax start?

Completely agree with this. I’ve seen the GWS trade mentioned numerous times, I know all our proposed trades favour North, it makes no sense to me from a GWS perspective at all.

GWS have 5 free list spots with potentially more delistings to come. There's no reason for them to trade good picks out.

End of 2027 I think. Might not be worth much but we don't know the concessions for Tassie yet.
Also, not sure if they can bring the 2027 forward into 2026 next year and trade 2025 1st and two 2026 1st rounders.
I'm sure the AFL would tick off anything if Freo get Warner and Swans get well compensated. We'll see what happens.
We might not end up trading our F1 at all unless it's Tigers involved.

Of course we'll win a game. How many times has that been suggested recently? and how many times has it actually occurred? The answer is 0. Last time was 1964.

Bit strange to have an opinion on how many games we'll win on one hand, then admit to not knowing the list on the other 👍

The key to the Tigers winning games next year, is that there remains some very good premiership players on the list. Vlaustin, Prestia, Short, Broad, Lynch, Balta, Nankervis and McIntosh if he is not delisted. Add to that Taranto and Hopper, who are good footballers, but need to do more, plus some of the recent draftees and some very good kids who are about to be drafted this year, their list will never be as depleted as ours was after the "great" Kangaroo Cull post season 2020.

They won't win a lot of games but they will definitely win some and for tiger fans, being able to reflect on 3 very recent flags, while some of these new kids start to show their exciting talent, the ride might be quite a reasonable one.

Its been spoken about a bit, being to trade for a future pick or two next year, if it can be achieved without giving up too many/any of the really good picks this year, should spread the talent influx over two rather than just one draft.

By the way, I barracked for that team in 1964 and I would take Richmond's list in 2025 in a heartbeat over the poor old Royboys of that year.

Just added Broad, who I missed. Four of those, being Vlaustin, Broad, Short and Balta, make the nucleus of a very good defence. Throw in Miller who is a handy type and it doesn't look too bad.

They normally prefer Vic Country kids, any thoughts?

FOS, Lindsay, Lalor, Tauru, Langford, Berry, Travaglia, Whitlocks
Yep usually country kids. Not sure they need Berry with Thomas, Jones, McMullen and Gothard on their list.
I think FOS, Tauru, Langford and Travaglia are off the board by 15/16. I'd guess with 15/16/21 range that they'd be more looking at Lindsay (Josh Kelly replacement?) or the Whitlock twins perhaps.
But we'll get a better idea closer to the draft. Twomey linked them to Leake (TAS) and Gothard (NSW) last year.

I know next years draft isn't supposed to be as good as other recent drafts.

But **** me, some people in here seem desperate to trade out our F1 for absolutely nothing

There’s also the ability to trade what, 2 years in advance next year?
Maybe there will be someone we will want to target then

If, God forbid, we finish bottom 3 again next year surely we’d be in line for some more compensation picks. Total BS that there was nothing this year really. I wonder whether that’s influenced the decision to try and trade out of next year’s draft.

No chance, we can get out of this ourselves don't need any charity at this stage
