So long as we don't give you access to KG I don't really care.

This guy has become such a legend on this forum with nearly no chance we draft him.

DONS' BID TO IMPROVE ON PICK NO.9 FAILS
Tim Michell
Essendon faces the prospect of a draft night disaster as its efforts to move up the order during the trade period prove fruitless.

The Bombers have tried to improve their position in the first round (currently No.9) as they seek to avoid having their top-10 pick swallowed up by an early bid for NGA prospect Isaac Kako.

Kako has been touted as a possible top-10 selection and if one of the clubs with a selection before Essendon bids on him, the Bombers will have to use selection nine to match.

St Kilda, which holds picks 7 and 8, has been said to hold interest in the gifted small forward.

“We explored that (moving up the draft order),” Bombers list manager Matt Rosa said.

“We have spoken to some clubs ahead of us to see if there’s the potential of moving up.

“But I think as time goes on, we’ve realised that it’s going to be hard to potentially move up in this draft (because) everyone is valuing those high picks.

“It’s something we will keep exploring but I would say unlikely at this stage.”

The Bombers have fielded interest from rival clubs about splitting pick nine for later selections in this year’s draft or future picks.

That would allow them to avoid losing pick nine, and its points value, if a club bids on Kako with one of the first eight selections.

“We’re just assessing all our options. We have had some offers and some interest in that pick nine, whether it be for us to move back and potentially move into the future.

“We’re in a position where we have just really got to listen to all opportunities.

“The pointy end of this draft is strong and it would need to be quite a special offer for us to consider giving up that pick nine, at this stage.”

Their incompetence is truly staggering. Imagine somehow not being able to get rid of a top 10 pick in a stacked draft lolololololo

They are trying to play the "we'll only consider something heavily in our favour" card when everyone knows they will be climbing over the barriers to get a live trade done on draft night when Kako's name gets called out in the first 8 picks. That's when we offer our F1 for their pick 9 plus their F2.

I know. Trade Eon ftw.

I honestly like the look of him tho, with a later pick. Only based on a few highlights vids obviously.

the acurate one would be rolling in his virtual grave hearing we're chasing Tom Thumb as a recruit.

We could have had such a flipping good one of those but we chose Josh Williams with our 2nd rounder in 2016. Tom bloody Stewart (and about 20 others still running around!) came after him.

Carey -> Wells-> Josh Williams 😭

All from the steak knives chucked in for the Longmire deal. It could have been glorious.

The fact that Carlton would rather go to the draft than give up their 1st and Collingwood don't seem to want to give up more than a mid 1st should tell us all we need to know what clubs consider to be his value, yet with each passing day in this thread the legend of Dan Houston grows and grows.

He's not single handedly dragging us up the ladder next year, he's not worth dropping back out of the top 5 of the draft this year, and he's not worth gambling our future first for either.

I swear half the people gagging for us to overpay hadn't even heard of him until a few weeks ago.

Up there with the end of a 40ish year run of consecutive 100+ gamers in jumper #6 when some brainiac offered it to Taylor Garner. A guy known for getting injured walking from his car into Arden Street.
