Reckon that's a reasonably fair deal. We're pretty pick-happy on here, aren't we. Is the plan just to keep picking blokes in the 20s and 30s until something sticks? We already have Hardeman, Goad, Wawson and BGeorge (losing hope with him though) as blokes waiting in the wings. What we don't have is a good proven half-back flanker who can fill a role well for a few years until someone takes it from him. Ah well. Wouldn't have been particularly fussed with either outcome

Yep and the only pick of recent years we have in that range that at this stage can be considered a near definite success is Paul Curtis. The others either haven’t shown enough yet/too early to call or don’t look like being at AFL level.

It all comes down to how long we think Daniel will be in our side and improve it.

How many picks in the 20s end up being 200 game players?

Trade offer doesn’t bother me as much as some but I guess that’s contingent on Daniel giving us 3-4 years of quality football (top 10 b&f).
If Daniel’s comes to us and he finishes consistently in our b&f top 10, then we are back in what Terry Wallace calls “the vortex”.

Have you followed the draft pool this year?

I’d have a hard time finding anyone who watched this years pool that would be happy moving out of 25 for someone mediocre like Daniel.

Based off the last month if we improve anytime soon it'll be a miracle. Darling given two with a trigger, Daniel for a second rounder, our future pick being treated like a penny stock. Far out.

Nope, not outside the top few. Forgive me for taking the super-draft thing with a grain of salt. It's trotted out most years, so at a certain point I stop biting. Anyway, 25 becomes 30 or thereabouts after all the usual shenanigans
