Fun fact, they a called ‘nibble pies’ in Warrnambool.
Alright.

I'm not saying I'm wrong. I never actually denied the "nibble pies" thing. I am certain that my position is that the term was never used to the east of Alansford and it was purely a Warrnambool thing.

I have just been informed by my cousin who grew up in Alansford and later, in Warrnambool until she moved to Perth in 1984 that "nibbles" or "nibble pies" is real.

Apparently.

If we are unable to get value by splitting pick 2 what do you think we could get by trading our future first? Would it be possible to get 1 of saints 7 or 8 or demons 9? I understand we tried getting suns 13 with our future first so imagine we had enquired with saints and demons and told no?

I’d rather one or two of those Werribee boys I reckon they would have a good crack at it
Genuine question as a VFL numpty who only watches North games:
Where would we play Brew?
We've got Phillips as our first preference as tagger.
Wardlaw tackles all day long
Parker for leadership and accountability
Maybe as a defensive forward?

Not sure. Clubs will likely value it around pick 4-5. But then in the 2024 draft you could get the 4th on your board at pick 10 or so, so it really depends on who their targets are.

Ship has sailed on Brew for us. Personally would have traded out some of our young midfield capital a few years ago and got him in but that time has passed too.

Even if Garoni was stuck behind Darling, Teakle, Maley and a 2024 draftee?

Or only if we went for a midfielder or Tauru at 2?
Yep. 1-2 of those will be playing AFL. Maley has been thrown around in the ruck and is still a speculative prospect as much as I rate him.

Garoni would step in and be our best VFL forward by a long way and I think would work well with Finbar.

To be honest I don’t know I would just rather get someone who’s going to bust his gut at training to try and get a game than someone who’s been delisted who more than likely is finished. Give someone a chance you never know what we may get

Late thoughts on trade period.

Not my concept but - it's very unlikely Brady is operating in a vacuum. He's probably coordinating the feeler contacts with agents but would bet he's largely being dictated requirements by Clarkson then tasked with making them happen.

I doubt Thursfield was thrilled to lose #25 and it was an overpay. But I'm inclined to clear Brady on this one. It smacks of a captain's call, the whole "Daniel wants to play for Alastair Clarkson". I suspect Brady was given the names Parker and Daniel and asked to secure them, with no option of retreat.

Overall, this trade period was the strongest indicator that they've now looked at everyone 27+ on the list, grabbed the bucket, then moved swiftly to rebalance that lack of senior poise and presence.

So mission accomplished in terms of slightly fixing list structure.

I suspect this view is 100% accurate.

I think they both have to be drafted. Culley and DGB could train on with us and join as a DFA. At least with these two you can go into preseason training to gauge it.
