1. Delist Pink with the intention to re-rookie.

2. Go to the draft with picks 2, 62 & 75.

3. Trade pick 2 and our 2025 3rd pick to Richmond for picks 6 & 11.

4. At pick 7, North Melbourne selects Harry Armstrong.

5. At pick 12, a bid for Kako still hasn’t been made. We trade pick 12 and our 2025 4th pick to * for pick 29 and their 2025 1st pick (* still holds Melbourne’s 2025 1st pick).

6. At pick 32, North Melbourne selects Oliver Hannaford.

7. At pick 53, North Melbourne selects Noah Mraz.

8. Pink is re-rookied at pick 2 of the rookie draft.

9. Stevens to train over the summer and take a SSP spot if one becomes available. If not, plays the year in our VFL with the aim of getting a F/S spot next year.

10. It’s 2025 and * has backed themselves in to make finals, but they implode with Bard sacked mid-year and they ultimately finish 16th, handing us 2025 pick 3.
If we split 2, I wouldn't then trade back out into another draft. No thanks.
And Hannaford highly unlikely to be there at 29 (32) and Mraz will be taken well before the 50's.

They've all got the horn over the idea that the Tigers will have a billion first rounders and will write anything to add to the haul. You only have to read what gets vomited out of Barrett's keyboard whenever someone rattles his cage - he's leading the charge on Richmond's first rounder bounty being so similar to what GWS or GC has, when it's not even close. Ralph is also terrible for this.

Richmond more picks = Richmond are better = Richmond win more games = HS/AFL journos get to write more stories about Richmond = more HS subscriptions/AFL website clicks

If we had Richmond's draft haul they wouldn't write shit about it
Yep.

We had 5 first rounders last year and no hype around that - just the same doom and gloom.

Plus we didn't lose players like Bolton, Baker and Rioli to get them either.

When you factor that in, our haul is much more hype worthy.

Can you say with any level of confidence that we won’t end up going ahead with something like that though?

That’s the concern for me. Whilst I think it’s an incredibly lopsided deal, I’m not certain the club won’t do it.

I can say with 100% certainty we wouldn’t. Nothing like another negative take though right?

If the club actually entertained doing 2 and a future first for 6 and 11 as is written, I might just google 'how to make molotovs', that would be an absolute ass reaming, and the afl should refuse to sign off on it.

People who think our performance on field suffers because we show dignity to others are truly deluded and quite frankly pathetic.

North has always been a forward thinking ethical club, with our treatment of indigenous players and avoidance of pokies. It’s one of the reasons I am proud of this club.

Rumours of Pick 2 + F1 for 2 top ten picks.

I don’t think even Brady is incompetent enough to make that deal. If he did he should be sacked immediately.

Of course they would, but it would be about how irresponsible we are trading talent out for 'speculative' picks and how we deserve to finish bottom 2 because of it.

Can see us asking for 6 and 11 for 2 but ending up with 6 and 18. Which ends up 200 odd points more for Richmond. In all honesty don't think it's that bad considering the even top crop and the fact we don't necessarily need any of them and are more interested in Tarau. The risk obvs being of Melbourne take tarau or if they go for shanahan/ Armstrong.

6 and 18 we'd end up with one of tarau/ shanahan and possibly Whitlock or another tall around then. Maybe even trainor. Not that bad

We don't trade any picks until after the Tuggers pick their man at 1. We then bid on Ashcroft to buy more time and then wait for the phone to run hot - which it will.

Imo, 3-4 clubs will inquire.

100% this and if the offer doesn’t meet our expectations then we simply use the the pick. People seem to forget that we actually hold the upper hand in this scenario.

Genuine question. Can you actually do that? By placing a bid on a player, surely that means you're attempting to use the pick and should be held to taking a player.

I don't see why not. if you rate a player and they are bid on that doesn't mean you rate other players around them in the draft order.

You are required to take the player if it's not matched by the other team but Lions will quickly match it.
Most of the deals would have been discussed pre-draft, but it'll be interesting to see if a team gets in a last minute offer to get the pick depending on who is on the board.

Cant remember who, perhaps it was the swans, put in two bids that were matched before trading out the pick.

Was sorta gigglesome!
Yeah, now you mention it, I can remember that.

Just seems a weird loophole that a team can use a pick to force other teams to match, and then give away that pick. But as mentioned above it makes sense for the team, as they may want to try their luck at the F/S's and when they're matched decide they'd rather split the pick and get 2 other players a bit further down.
