Trading back our pick 2 and getting Houston and another first rounder sounds pretty appealing.

Say we traded pick 2 for Gold Coast’s picks 6 & 12. Sending 12 to Port and taking Armstrong in the draft looks great, but Port probably don’t accept that.

Alternatively we could send the pick 6 to Port and we probably still get Shanahan at pick 12. Do we lose much there? Some even rate Shanahan above Armstrong.

This is all based on Houston actually wanting to come to us though, which I’m still highly sceptical of.
If they want pick 11 from Carlton but not pick 12 from us I'd give then two days then withdraw the offer.

Parker's impact as a player alone wont make much difference but his ability to improve the quality of
our young players will be where the benefit will come from.

It’s the crying that will come on this Board if by the Bye Round 2025 if it hasn’t worked out to what the expectations are of him to turn this Club around are on here right now

Just keep a lid on it

nah bolton to freo for 9 and 16

but yes i expect them to come for 2 with 6 and 10/12
they will likely want to give us 16 instead of 10/12

From what they're saying he's happy to go to either club and is allowing Rich to work out the best deal for him.

I reckon WC would happily give up 3 to get him.

Just had a phone call with a friend who is the definition of Inner Scrotum™. None of this is 1st hand, take it to the bank type info, but just passing along anyway;
  • Luke Parker: club is confident it's happening
  • Jack Darling: done deal
  • Dan Houston: club is a lot more involved than people may realise. Apparently we're trying to facilitate a three-team deal that would involve pick 2. They think Freo would be the 3rd club but didn't have concrete info.
Don't shoot the messenger if you love/hate this info. I'm just the middle man here.

You sound like Carro - ‘don’t shoot the messenger’! 😜

Such a cop out imo.

Sheils was there for 2 years, and Greenwood for 3. If the players I mentioned above don't know how to set training standards by now, then we may as well trade the lot of them.
I would have thought we are getting Darling as an effective extra target up forward and as an onfield forward coach who also provides alot of inside 50 pressure.

According to footywire Paul Curtis was ranked 12 for tackles inside 50 (for players over 10 games,) Zurhaar was 24 and then Eddie Ford was at 114. Darling was ranked 16.

If WC get Bolton, Baker and Graham, it wouldn't surprise me if they are top 8 next year.

B: Hough, McGovern, Cole
HB: Duggan, Edwards, Baker
C: Maric, Kelly, Chesser
HF: Bolton, Allen, Reid
F: Ryan, Waterman, Cripps
Foll: Flynn, Yeo, Ginbey
Int: Hewett, Long, Graham, Pick 3,

Not much depth, but best 23 is pretty competitive.

Sorry mate. For posting this info I’m going to hold you personally responsible for any issues that result from these trades. Trust you understand.

They're desperate for a top 20 pick in this years draft.

I reckon you could Houston for pick 16 if Carlton don't want to trade 11.

This is where The Nostradamus has been bang on, split this draft pick into two first rounders and I doubt any of us will stress too much filling a need elsewhere.

Back line 6/10
Forward line 8/10
Mid/wings 4/10
Depth 3/10

While it’s a bit better than last year, I still think they are bottom 4.

This is the meanest thing you've ever said to me, and you're usually so nice Danni!

You missed the opportunity to call her Damo.

Too late

The fact that Port really want us involved probably tells you everything you need to know. We should only ever deal with that club when we have total leverage of the scenario. Pretty much the complete opposite of the Houston situation.
Offer then pick 2, tell them the offer is open for three hours then hang up and when they call back tell them we've changed our minds.

Repeat every three days till trade week starts then ignore their phone calls.

Where did you have lunch????

A no brainer.

A young, talented but inconsistent mid who can’t lock down a spot in the mids…

…for an older, proven AA gun who is in a position of need.

Powell would allow Rozee to be a permanent HF/mid which would be a big win for Port.
Port wouldn't do that
