We have to assume some of the risk. The pick will be highly coveted if its tabled by Fremantle so our offer will have to be competitive. Assume we finish 15th, the bones of the Deal is 4,22 for 9 and 18. The exchange of later picks is largely redundant as they'll be used to bring in Darling and Parker. If you go by history, the team using future picks to trade into the current draft year rarely looks the winner on paper and almost always have to overpay. With future trading opening up, there is nothing stopping us from trading back into 2025 draft.

The gap between picks 4 and 9 is not in any way the same as the gap between picks 18 and 22. More has to be coming back to us or an earlier pick than 22. Forget the later pick swaps.

hopefully when we finalise and speak to parker's manager who is also Konstanty's we can work him into the deal for free with the swans

I thought his first preference was to stay at Sydney. Wouldn't they just keep him if he was good, given they used a good pick on him?

He is expecting to get delisted. He isn’t sure where he’ll end up at this stage and is open to coming to North but has not heard from them for a while, nor has any offer in front of him from us (as of last week).

Not surprising given they seem content with the small forwards on the list going by the Q&A video, which is disappointing.

What part of the last five years suggests to you that we'll get out of the bottom four?
Its might be unlikely that we get out of the bottom 4 next year, but the price to move into the top 10 of this years draft is high. If we assume that our F1 is going to be traded, i'd love to hear some alternative ideas of what a viable trade might look like that works for both North and the side trading the pick.

Brisbane don't do that it is points deficit. They are only sliding back from 18 for more point to pick up Ashcroft and Marshall.

I actually don't have an issue with trading the F1, but there's no way we should be giving up both 22 and 40 in your proposed deal. Giving up F1 and 22 to get back 9 and 18 is already shaky, let alone throwing 40 in too.

Life on Mars was brilliant….love it to bits…The character of Geene Hunt ..just amazing.
But this was a follow on into the 80s…first ep was a bit cringe…but geez it tied it up neatly with many questions answered…give it a go you won’t be disappointed.
I've seen Ashes to Ashes as well. Its great but I don't think you could remake it. It was obviously made by people who remembered the 80s.

Why would we trade our F1? Future picks always cop a discount and we will need it next year when we have a pile of duds OOC. We will get a bigger return for splitting pick 2.

A few reasons, but primarily because we may want to be in this draft and it’s widely understood that trading down isn’t as lucrative as recent years due to the even draft.

So let’s see how it plays out but the future first gives us a gun in plus 1 or two top pick this year so we can use our lower picks for Darling, Parker and Daniels.

It’s a moving feast so I don’t worry too much about individual picks, more the overall outcome.

Pick 40 might end up 45-50 on draft night, and has been flagged as the pick that could be used for Parker. With Parker, Darling and potentially Daniel to come in, i could see us taking only 4 players on draft night. What you also have to consider is that with pick 2,9,18 we have significant assets that will be coveted in live trading on draft night. There is nothing to say we couldn't further improve our hand from that point. We have historically been too conservative in this space.
