Got ya.

He was delisted by Adelaide, therefore, I thought free agency compensation was voided.

Absolutely ******ed that a team can be compensated after just 3 years of service from a player imo.

This Geelong you are talking about the AFL, sorry, Gold Coast gifted pick 7 the year after a premiership because they didn’t have any first rounders.

Accomodations will be made.

I just can’t see why you would leave your best mates when you can see improvements

Reality is, he’s unsigned at Round 16 of his contract year.

It’s probably right at the pointy end of discussions as we speak.

There’s been some late examples in recent years of re-signings, but very few.

If he’s still unsigned at the start of August, we need to accept it, just move on and start planning for next season without him.

I’d like to think we are a pretty battle hardened supporter group these days to players that want to go elsewhere.

I’d like Cam to stay, but won’t lose any sleep if he doesn’t. Just as I didn’t with McKay, as I think we are in the box seat to get overs if he does which could be viewed as a net positive in 12 months time (as it has with McKay). And to be brutally honest, we have a lot more medium forwards than we had key backs this time last year.

I’m uneasy about the 5 years on big coin as it is for him also.

If he does go and triggers band one (given we should be matching anything less) it would make things interesting.

Would we/ or WC entertain picks 2 and 3 for Reid? We didnt do it last year, but he's removed any doubts there might have been.

Would we use one pick and split the other as mentioned in the hypothetical Geelong/ SDK trade.

Or simply walk away with 2 of FOS, Smillie, Lalor.

If we got band 1 for Zurhaar it will be peak big footy melts.
I can tell you now West Coast and Richmond supporters will cause bigfooty to melt, remember 2021 or 2022 when bigfooty crashed because the Eagles took a half back flanker instead of a pure midfielder, Campbell Chesser, I think everyone was reading the Eagles draft thread it was so funny, one of the best nights I've had reading a forum in my life, the posts by Eagles supporters was legendary and may never be matched!

If this fanciful scenario played out, and we again walk away with 2 more mids, the club is just f*cked in the head.

One mid to round out the side, but TWO could only mean the removal of not only Rawlings, but Thursfield and Viney as well…

I think there is more of a chance of Essendon winning the GF than this occurring just as a disclaimer.

But we could trade for list needs (KPF or elite small + change) or you know, actually draft a KPF.

If band 1 occurs, I would hope Rawlings gets his dealing on and we trade down for multiple picks.

Ralph saying that Harley Reid’s management wants $2m for his 4th season from West Coast as compensation for unders for the first 3 for a single year extension.

Ralph also said Essendon will offer $18m over 10 years to his management.

This is going to cook the Eagles 😂
Not looking promising for WCE if he only wants to sign 1yr extension.

Only my opinion as an old industrial relations hack, but the AFLPA really sold out draftees with the $$ limits to the mandatory three year contracts for draftees.

It's easy to get improvements for existing members when you're selling out people who are yet to join

I have yet to see it confirmed, but Eagles seem to think there’s some sort of redraw function for the 3rd year in the TPP.

Which seems completely at odds with Ralph’s article

Bingo, maybe the worst of the lot
I felt for crows fans then and posted as much on their board.

After extracting pretty good returns for Lever and Cameron, they went down to the West Lakes pokies and pissed it all up for Gibbs.

Carlton on traded the picks and eventually landed lauchie obrian, matt kennedy and TDK. So basically completed their midfield depth while also providing a tall to pair up with pittonet.

Whilst O'Brien was a bust delisted with a year to run on his contract the other 2 were hits.

The ruthlessness of chopping obrion with a year to run is the sort of list management we need with the likes of ccj.
