Game Day 2024 Trade Period - Lian Yu - that liminal space between trade and draft.

I think even if we do pay overs once next season starts none of us will care, it'll be long in the past.

I'm not saying we should, I'm just saying it'll all be irrelevant in a few weeks time even.

You are correct of course. A five goal game in round one and nobody will care

Yeah I call bullsh**, I'm still apocalyptically pissed off over the Jackson deal two years later

Maybe, but even if that is the case its probably because we've had 5 months to get over it.

I was still bitter about the Hogan and Lobb stupidity as late as this year and only got over it once Treacy broke out so I'll back myself to still be ****ed off in March.
I get where you're coming from, would be hard not to feel a little slighted if we pay overs, but at the end of the day it's out of our control, not much we can do at that point except strap ourselves in for Shai Bolton's wild ride.

None of this is in our control, yet I still mope around all weekend when we lose on a Friday.

It’s overs but 10,11 and 18 for Bolton and 14 gets it done if Richmond don’t have any other deals to do. Bolton is a gun - Let’s be honest.

I do get the feeling though that Richmond might need to trade Pick 30 to Gold Coast so I think the trade is possibly a little bit more complicated than the above.
It's overs by a mile. He's worth 1 first rounder, that's it. He's about to be 26, we've realistically got 4 years left of him because pace is his major asset. He's not a natural ball magnet either. Look at his stats as soon as Richmond went shite. Some players just find the ball no matter what team they are in.

I just can’t understand that trade from WC , regardless of the what happens with the picks picks bringing all those mature age players in and pouring games into them while they haven’t even paid the price getting their young guys up to 50 games

Reid Hough and Ginbey are on their way I guess but the rest are stuck at 20 odd or less

Very strange

Interesting comment made in the trade of Baker to WC and the draft capital used.

“Made a commitment to him” … last time I heard something similar was when Gold Coast indicated similar to Weller in the Fremantle to GCS trade lead up.

It leaked out so was used to Fremantles advantage.

He very clearly isn't always gun which is precisely why you don't a trade price of someone that is always gun. He's not Betts kicking 50+ 4 years in a row.

We are taking the risk that he doesn't perform at his max, because that is a real possibility and the same reason why he's not just 10+11 straight up.

10+18 is the right price.

It didn't leak, Weller said it himself on trade radio

I can see clear positives whatever happens tomorrow.

  • We get Bolton who clearly fills a need and should make us more dynamic and creative up forward; or
  • Take 3 first rounders in a super draft. This also puts us in a position to trade aggressively in '25 and '26 with salary cap space, our first rounder quota exhausted and draft capital.

Hope you’re wrong about the four years because I’m pretty sure I’ve read we’re giving him five.

Well if you're putting it like that....I'd take all those picks but even 10 + 11 is fine in my opinion. 18 plus 14 seems too much. Not sure Freo would REALLY part with these 4 picks???

what ever the trade is, it will be. i'm sure both our club boards will have the bitchers and moaners

the deal will go thru.
the hello graphics videos/ images for Shai Bolton have already been done
same as our farewell Shai Bolton graphics videos/ images

congratulation guys he's going to be a hell of a player for you, cheers:thumbsu:

I just want to fast forward to tomorrow so we can get the Bolton trade over and done with and people can stop pretending like we don’t need him and he wouldn’t instantly improve our team and potentially make us a contender.

This trade period has not only been very boring but also very tiresome hearing the same arguments regurgitated over and over.

getting rid of the coach would make us a contender. We don't need Bolton for sacrificing 2 potential players.
