Think everyone needs to take a deep deep breath

We pushed the Cats to 8pts down at their boutique dungheap & an unbeaten GWS to 1pt at their soulless middle if nowhere shitpile ..... we should have beaten The injectors and we beat the reigning Premiers

All of the above with one of the worst injury and suspension lists in thr keagye whilst our 2nd team intermittently playing matches

OK we got slaughtered by the Dullbogs .... our 3rd game in 12 days with 2 interstate trips before that .... not ideal but it is what it is.

Now on the bright side ..... our fixture after this weekend starts to get better and we hopefully start to get players back

If we can finally get a decent run without any further injuries or suspensions we know most of our remaining games are winnable with a strong mainly best 22 playing

String a couple of decent wins together and the team will start gelling and the belief will grow .... I get a little pissed when supporters say last year was one out the box .... sorry but thats bullshit ..... we won our matches fair and square and I still think we have much to be bullish about

Funny watching supporters flee a supposedly sinking ship only to return with their tails between their legs when ship starts to sail again

I am backing Ross and the team to turn things around
Adding Henry, Wood, Dow & Webster will help a lot going forward…talk of sacking the boss is lunacy..

Well Gubby needs to spend his time doing something. I understand his role would be to build relationships so that we know the lay of the land and clubs and managers will deal with us when the time comes.
But ******* hell, only one really good player has shown any interest in the years he's been enjoying Moorabbin's best coffee.
Did he land Crouch? He's been good for free.
Bloody hard attracting a player to a small club with only 1 premiership in 150 years

I did say he should be president. He is not qualified to be the Reserve Orange Cutter

Because he is the one that rehired and then sacked Ratts a few months later quoting that our standards were nowhere near it. Eighteen months later our standards are arguably worse than ever.
Really. Look at European football, they hire and fire coaches or managers at will, well within 6-months of signing a contract. Which isn’t too dissimilar to the NBA or NFL. It is a cut throat multi billion dollar business. We are no longer in the 80s so move on.
If you are referring to standards in reference to recent results. We have the 3rd or 4th youngest list in the AFL, inexperience breeds inconsistent results or performance or passages of games. This will happen until they mature and gain more experience, it happens in aspects of all sports. Keep in mind player development isn’t linear or constant nor comparable.
Something else to think about, we all know our playing list has it weaknesses in particular our midfield, it lacks genuine A grade talent. We haven’t had silver spoon service from the AFL via NGA or Academy selections like other clubs, so it will take time to correct via the draft and FA. The top teams all have a great midfield and depth, and this is where it starts.
The biggest issue for the Saints is its supporters and the pressure of limited success…

Not quite the draft thread but Tyson Milne (Steve's son) is making a name for himself as a running half back at Frankston. Another 28 on the weekend, the 184cm is putting his name on the draft map
Been doing that for a couple of years now.

Why are our standards worse than ever?

A few losses and this whole forum explodes

He's a good VFL player, not sure he'll get picked up but gets a better run at Frankston so at least gets a chance to show what he can do.
