So comfortable we are on the right track and making progress in most areas.

Stick to the process should be the mantra.

Strong similarity to what Postecoglou is doing at Tottenham but the crap he has to put up with from Spurs fans is on another level.

Makes Saints BF look like an informed, well reasoned bunch.

That's being generous 🤪

All of Butler, Keeler, Stocker, Byrnes, Sharman, Keeler and Heath have been rumoured to have signed or mentioned by external media to have deals but no announcements from the club.
I definitely showed my daughter an announcement about Butler re-signing because he's her favourite player.
Can't find it now though.

It was on the Tom Morris "Mason Wood signs" social media stuff, and perhaps on his yapping on Channel 9.

I think the point being the club itself has said nothing and Tom is, well..... Tom

Woody in the morning woody in the evening woody at any time

Funny you say that a mate in is 50's told me the other day he has been prescribed Viagra. He loves the bloody things says he is eating them like tic tacs and is addicted to them. He even takes them before he goes to the gym, I dont know how he keeps his modesty he would be as toey as a roman sandal. I havent stopped laughing it was like he had a new toy - his poor wife!

The Suns have been told they will lose their 5 additional rookie concessions positions, meaning they will have to cut from 9 on the rookie list to 4 losing 5 spots. Considering they will be bringing in Rioli and Noble this year they are going to have a significant list squeeze issues, hopefully we are sniffing around - James Tsitas or Sam Clohesy would be good midfield depth.

Suns out of contract include Alex Sexton, Alex Davies, Brandon Ellis, Darcy McPherson, Hewago Oea, Jack Mahony, James Tsitas (R), Levi Casboult, Nicholas Holman, Oskar Faulkhead (R), Sam Day, Sandy Brock (R), Sean Lemmons, Will Rowlands (R).

I've put a line through Ellis and Casboult who probably retire as well as Sam Day who I think has been told he's not getting offered a new contract. Not really much to pick out of that lot. Possibly Davies as a big bodied midfielder. Sexton is UFA, but will be 31 next year.

Maybe Faulkhead just for the laughs listening to BT call out his name?

May as well just call him Stiffy McGhee at this point.

If we dosed up the Saints on that stuff they may be able to edge opponents under the ball without having to put their hands in their backs

I've said it before, but I think a key to success is having good players play into their mid 30s. Most premiership teams have that, so I'm stoked to see them backing Wood and Hill in like this. We need Marshall, Sincs, Steele and Wilkie in particular to also play into their mid 30s, which will give our younger players the chance to get closer to their peak. That's how we'll contend.
Great point here. Zorko’s just won AA at 35, Neale at 32, see how their team is going. Hawkins at 34 a couple years ago, Premiers. Need one of our top liners to realise some of that longevity

"re-buiild" a list. I keep seeing this but we havent re built and the strategy seems to be at most a refresh not a rebuild.

We havent bottomed out, were not seeking to trade much (or anything depending what you think about the Battle saga) and the 23 between Round 24 and finals week 1 last year really isnt much different.

gringo2011 hasnt said sack Ross, hes simply said we need to see improvement otherwise questions will be asked.

Now were all buoyed by the form we showed at the end of the year and we all know improvement is not linear but this argument has come up again and again and again.

We need to be improving next year and really given we played finals in 23, making (and winning) a final really should be the floor. If were not doing that then question should (and im sure will be asked).

That you and others have patience and wanna let Ross take as long as he like is pretty immaterial.
Rebuild, restump , rework, re-wire.
All just words that mean improve.
And our list has improved.

Nowhere did I say give Ross as long as he wants. Ever.
But he’s had 2 seasons. Two.
And we had Richo for 6.

Of course he’ll be answerable.
Did you believe we were a list capable of challenging 2 years ago? I certainly didn’t, and I certainly don’t think we are now. But the improvement is there. And I see no reason why it won’t continue.

We’re all impatient. But you have to be realistic too.

Nah, a rebuild is a very different thing. He’s not doing that but that’s the timeframe people wanna give him.

I agree with you on the improvement but we also finished 12th and only climbed that high because we started winning games when it didn’t matter anymore. We can see onfield improvement in gamestyle, ball movement etc. but ultimately the measure is wins and losses.

I’m actually not impatient, making finals next year isn’t some stupid lofty unrealistic goal, we did it in 23 with what everyone said was a trash list which everyone also said has now been improved.

Like you I see no reason why we shouldn’t improve so if we don’t I’d have no issue with Ross not getting his fourth year. As you say, questions will be asked.

Good point - getting your best players to play for a few extra years is probably the best value way to improve the overall quality of the playing group.

On the flip side, early retirements are a killer, and we suffered our fair share of those. If guys like Roberton, Carlisle, Jack Steven, Koby Stevens and Armitage had longevity, they could very well have still been playing. Even Seb and Crouch have fizzled out way earlier than the current norm. It leaves a massive hole.

P. Voss signed a new contract with Freo only a month ago, no chance he leaves.

Unfortunately JL can't be considered a salary dump. If by some miracle he leaves and doesn't choose a SA club, we'd need to pay up for him.
Apparently he is open to a vic club and suns would take as little as a decent second round pick
