Edmund probably has a point here. Having their contracted player involved probably puts them in the box seat still. They'll likely keep moving a few things around until both parties are happy.

Gold Coast are desperate for players rather than picks. I think we ar most likely the outsiders.
Gold Coast want and need picks for next year because they have another stacked year of academy picks.

This is the bullshit that really grinds my gears about the egos in the AFL trade rooms.

The dogs will end up settling on pick 47. It’s a fair trade. The trade period is finite, take the pick and move on to other potential trades to move your draft hand.

Too much posturing that becomes counter productive
Whilst i agree on the posturing, were SORT of doing the same thing. I think Macrae is probably worth a bit more than 47 and a bit less than 27.

Its always seemed like well probably wind up doing a swap of seconds (Macrae and 35 for 27) so we could probably lead with that.

The stalemate right now is equally spread, if we offered the pick swap and they still pushed back then id say theyre being a pack of pricks (which Sam Power and the dogs in general do very much appear to be).

47 comes in a little bit.

Its still a little unders IMO (trying to be completely objective).

The Dogs think hes worth a second, were trying to get him for a third. I can see why both clubs are doing what theyre doing but i always think the pursuing club needs to bend a little more to get a deal done.

On Friday it was seen that the Dees were leading the race to get 13 using their F1 and R2 - similar offer as us now.

The pies want 23 back from the suns and the suns think it is too much.

Righto, I understand now.

I'm not suggesting we don't have the best offer on the table, what I am saying is that Collingwood is in the box seat still.

And that's similar to what Edmund said, he didn't say Collingwoods offer was the best, he said 13 was still there's to lose.

Gold Coast want players, Noble is contracted. They also want 13 for Houston. With 3 days to go I think they will keep shifting a few things around until that deal is done.

If we are lucky enough for the deal to fall over then we swoop.

Just my opinion.

Pick 9 shenanigans seem to be the theme this year and I reckon we keep it going.

Melbourne are said to be super keen on Armstrong with pick 9.

But what if the team with the picks in between their pick 5 & 9 held an interest in Armstrong.

Would it mean they'd need to take Armstrong with their earlier pick? Would it? Would it? Do your thing SOS you slimey bugger!

If Edmund says we are not using pick 27

Then I’m worried we are using pick 27
I think he’s one of the more accurate. Precisely because he’s not as speculative as the other nimrods who find some obscure whisper and put it out there that it might happen. I find that he’s much more conservative (boring in a sense).

Next will come the leaks that we are super keen on Armstrong hopefully.

Force their hand at 6 and push a midfielder to our pick.

Armstrong at 8

This is where you are confusing me.

The Pies offer hasn’t changed. So how is it still the favourite in your eyes?

If it was as simple as the suns want noble. They would have made the deal last week and not held up trade week

The two late picks likely don't get used by Melbourne in the draft anyway. They basically swap 46 for a future third.

So basically the deal is 9 for a future first, 28 and 40.

That's pretty close to what I was thinking we'd have to pay to get it. I think it's a decent deal for Melbourne when you consider who will be there at pick 9.
And adding 46, 54, and 65 (with a fairly useless F3 coming back). That is a stack!

Because as I said, they will keep shifting a few things around. Leppitch said himself that they will start to work at it again on Monday.

They haven't said that's their final offer.

I don't see how JMc is worth a 2nd.

A year or two ago he certainly would have been but now he's behind Libba, Sanders, etc on the periphery of the best 22.

While the Dogs probably don't need to drop his $800k, it's definitely not great cap management to have a 31, 32, 33 year old eating up that every year (especially with some of their young guns OOC & demanding big fat contracts).

An early 3rd round pick is right on the money IMO.

The guy is over 30.
And if we’re paying his entire contract, 47 is just fine for me.
