Im more worried about what happens long term if Moose goes down? So, appreciate he may be long gone by the time we come to make our first selection, but jayzus I would love us to have a crack at Alix Tauru. Looking at those incredibly sticky mits and his intensity in defending, I can’t help but think that our biggest list gap after a small forward would be a lockdown medium defender/interceptor like him. I mean, who do we have on the list if Ryan ever goes down?
What's the expected range for Hamish Davies? I randomly went to Claremont Colts B&F last week as a sponsor and he is a great size and spoke well.
Must be a good draft. From the highlights package and whst I can recall of the colts GF he's got the makings of a modern AFL midfielder. Must be about 6'4 and clean below his knees. Not sure how quick he is, or any of the other attributes they all seem to be looking for though.ESPN have him 25. Rookieme and Twomey only go to 30, but I don't think he is in either from memory. Herald Sun has the most comprehensive list I have read and he is 32.
We might be lucky and he is available at 30, Gerreyn might also be available at that pick, he looks like a great backup for Jackson as a Fwd/Ruck, think that’s why Jones is still in limbo.Must be a good draft. Moose is definitely a rare commodity in his own right. Pre leg injury he was lightning fast and he's still quick enough to burn his opponent once he beats them in the air.Im more worried about what happens long term if Moose goes down?
Im not convinced Cox, Draper, Davies or Murphy are natural replacements.
At some point in the next two seasons I feel we should be looking for a direct replacement for Moose.
I understand we have MacDonald as depth but Moose going down cost us a place in this years finals and the guy has a unique blend of speed agility, height and strength that you will need to actively search to replace.

According to Paul Roos today on abc, The most important thing that is tested at the combine is the 2km time trial. At the combine he tested very well for endurance, but not so well in the 20m sprint. One knock on him might be his kicking action / ball drop. Looks a bit weird. But he kicked 21.10 this year and 20.8 last year, which seems reasonable enough.
He was a junior X-Country gun. Given he has had 2 yrs on reduced running due to stress fractures I suspect his tank may have slipped. Long-term he may make a good wing or 3rd tall fwd.Think he is a good runner.
Wouldn't be surprised if the rabble up the road picked him up and get his first season shadowing Jamie Cripps for a season to learn running patterns before turning into a mid. What's the expected range for Hamish Davies? I reckon just grab Bolton. A few pick slide isn’t going to matter. I would be pushing hard on more contract paid from a Freo point of view but happy to concede on the picks, even if no one knows about it.The prospect of taking the picks to the draft looms as the tick tock continues.
I am confident we can push for finals next season and think we should have made it this year. Bolton is more a key to the next step: winning finals.
We have 2 other targets: Warner and Pickett. Any of those 3 carry enough quality to supercharge a finals campaign.
If we miss this year and look to attract one next year, take 2 picks to the draft this year and roll one into next year.
Focus on speed, forward impact and disposal.
I think I'm doomed to be happy/not happy whatever the outcome of trade periods
So who do we get at pick 14? I have no idea about the draft talent available.
We seem to have a well balanced list now so probably just grab best available
He looks likely to go 17 to 23, if we want him we will need to use our first pick.Right, need to do a deep dive and who is going to be there. Hannaford may be the guy tbh. 30 should be fun as well
Been looking through the draft boards. 14 with whatever it ends up does seem just out of reach of the names I was most keen on. Would need someone to jump for Berry, Lindsay or Travaglia to be there and Reid is obviously a pipe dream. He looks likely to go 17 to 23, if we want him we will need to use our first pick.
haven't checked it out yet, would someone like allan being taken by WCE help us out there or still too much of a gap?Been looking through the draft boards. 14 with whatever it ends up does seem just out of reach of the names I was most keen on. As I have no interest in anyone over 192cm tall, seems like a Hannaford, Gross, Allan or Hotton
Even the 4th rounder from the Saints looks handy in a deep draft. It looks leke being taken easily in te third round perhaps mid third round after bidding. Ashcroft looks like going 1 in the recent mocks so Brisbane will have to use a ton of picks to macth that alone.Right, need to do a deep dive and who is going to be there. Nah, doesn't really help. We need a Whitlock, Hannaford, Shanahan or Trainor jump. Possibly two of those nameshaven't checked it out yet, would someone like allan being taken by WCE help us out there or still too much of a gap?
I reckon that comes in at least 10 spots the way the draft hands are at the momentEven the 4th rounder from the Saints looks handy in a deep draft.
