So we still play them away twice, technically. And still 6 hours on a bus anyway.

Only the Bunbury game vs North according to this

I think it means we only play them once?
Isn't Bunbury only a 2 hour trip each way from Perth? So we still play them away twice, technically. And still 6 hours on a bus anyway.

It’s a “home” game for Norf in WA so that means we won’t play them again in VIC or TAS because then it would mean they have two “home” games against us. The only possibility is that they have to come back to Perth to play us in an away game for them, but sounds like they won’t be doing that.I'll await confirmation, but that won't stop me flying off the handle right now at the possibility of playing them again in Melbourne or Tasmania.
Sounds like we're getting the Bunbury games, a good chance for team bonding the next three seasons. I'd be livid if we were in our window tho, would rather the Optus games in that case.
Fully expect that one year we will get Fixture Release Radio thanks to Continental Tyres for week.Things I hate about the AFL #358:
The steady dribbling out of fixture information for a week prior to the release of the full fixture. One day it’s confirmation of gather round, then opening round, today it’s Thursday night games, tomorrow it’ll be round 1 etc
Just release the ****ing fixture and be done with it. Sick of the cynical slow release of info to keep themselves in the news
It doesn't work that way - no one plays anyone 'away' twice. So we still play them away twice, technically. And still 6 hours on a bus anyway.
No Roos double up for 2025.
Hot take until we see the whole fixture but Eagles management just getting walked over at this stage.
Crows, Freo and Tigers locked as double up I reckon.
I'd rather the extra WA game than the Opening Round.Northern states - Opening Round
South Australia - Gather Round
Victoria - Thursday night R1, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Eve, ANZAC Day, Dreamtime at the G, Kings Birthday, Grand Final in perpetuity
Western Australia - North Melbourne B2B away games (one of which will be in Bunbury)
Welcome to the AFL
When it’s at Bunbury I disagree.Thirteen games in WA is far more important than a double up against North bearing in mind three things
1) We’ve lost 4 of our last 6 against them, including 2 of the last 3 at Optus
2) This year was the first time since 2019 we played them twice so there’s no guarantee we’d have them twice next year anyway
3) With the talent they’ve accumulated with draft assistance in recent years it’s only a matter of time before they start to improve
We’ve taken out a week of travel from our schedule, that’s a good thing and not something to complain about
Two byes I’m season with a young group would be very handy.I'd rather the extra WA game than the Opening Round.
But it all pales in comparison with Victoria's perks.
I would've thought Freo v Carlton and us v Richmond would've made more sense.
I would assume the WA government & proceeds from the games. Perhaps we chip in a little? Hopefully it's minimal. So who pays the Roos? Because if we had to chip in for a home game which has now turned into a neutral game we’ve been screwed over.
