I think it means we only play them once?

I'll await confirmation, but that won't stop me flying off the handle right now at the possibility of playing them again in Melbourne or Tasmania.

Isn't Bunbury only a 2 hour trip each way from Perth?

You're not including McGovern asking to stop at Miami Bakehouse, Pinjarra Bakery and then going past Bunbury to get Simmo's icecream from Quindalup then back to the final destination.

(I'm clearly exaggerating for effect - yes its about 2 hours)

It’s a “home” game for Norf in WA so that means we won’t play them again in VIC or TAS because then it would mean they have two “home” games against us. The only possibility is that they have to come back to Perth to play us in an away game for them, but sounds like they won’t be doing that.

Sounds like we're getting the Bunbury games, a good chance for team bonding the next three seasons. I'd be livid if we were in our window tho, would rather the Optus games in that case.

It would be rotated over the three years. We’re not playing down in Bunvegas every year.

No doubt we are one of the 3 teams not getting a Thursday night game. Some how the Bombers get the most. What a VFL friendly fixture again in regards to exposure

Things I hate about the AFL #358:

The steady dribbling out of fixture information for a week prior to the release of the full fixture. One day it’s confirmation of gather round, then opening round, today it’s Thursday night games, tomorrow it’ll be round 1 etc

Just release the ****ing fixture and be done with it. Sick of the cynical slow release of info to keep themselves in the news

Fully expect that one year we will get Fixture Release Radio thanks to Continental Tyres for week.

No Roos double up for 2025.

Hot take until we see the whole fixture but Eagles management just getting walked over at this stage.

Crows, Freo and Tigers locked as double up I reckon.

Thirteen games in WA is far more important than a double up against North bearing in mind three things

1) We’ve lost 4 of our last 6 against them, including 2 of the last 3 at Optus
2) This year was the first time since 2019 we played them twice so there’s no guarantee we’d have them twice next year anyway
3) With the talent they’ve accumulated with draft assistance in recent years it’s only a matter of time before they start to improve

We’ve taken out a week of travel from our schedule, that’s a good thing and not something to complain about

Northern states - Opening Round
South Australia - Gather Round
Victoria - Thursday night R1, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Eve, ANZAC Day, Dreamtime at the G, Kings Birthday, Grand Final in perpetuity

Western Australia - North Melbourne B2B away games (one of which will be in Bunbury)

Welcome to the AFL
I'd rather the extra WA game than the Opening Round.

But it all pales in comparison with Victoria's perks.

So apparently the Optus stadium game is expected to net Norf $1.2 million and $2 million altogether.
With the Bunbury oval only having 5k capacity, an extra $800,000 seems a lot for Norf to be pocketing. This tourism push better pay off for the WA government.

When it’s at Bunbury I disagree.

Needed to fight harder and get Roos and Tigers as double ups. Even a predicted jump from the Roos is a fair gap to the Crows and co.

Ok deal now but not great one now imo.

We've got an extra game in WA, we definitely haven't been screwed over

Not playing the Roos twice is a bit odd given where we both finished but they'll surely improve so not the worst thing that could happen
