JSOS, too slow over the first 5m 1on1 as a KPD? If he is a 3rd tall type, it could work. Proof will be in the pudding

Don’t agree. Every player has strength and weaknesses.

The positive I see is he releases Weitering Haynes & McGovern depending on how we line up. Jack on many occasions will pick up the best tall forward and lock down on them.

Jack will never let us down and his teammates will trust him. I reckon his presence alone will help our defence

I think Kemp is quicker, better leap, better contested mark. Will provide him more scoring opportunties then Jack as a deep forward.

Still, think Kemps best position is as an attacking 3rd tall defender but Govs got that role and I reckon JSOS is better suited to the vacant 2nd KPD position with his discipline and ability to half a contest.

I wonder what it means for Moir if Kemp plays forward though. Moirs got more tricks and the ability to impact on the ground as well as the air. Im not sure you can play Charlie, Harry, Kemp, Moir all forward atm. Would lack pressure.
Kemp & Moir are surprisingly quick, ball hits the deck it won’t be an issue.
Kemp will provide a heap of pressure, Moir seems to have good awareness & having someone who can kick off both feet instinctively will cause havoc. Williams also has great goal sense and awareness, Mots comes on & our forward line could be lethal.

Too tall is only an issue when the players aren’t clean at ground level & slow - don’t see that being a problem for us

So you would sack a coach who has made finals?

Oh boy

The core group are in their prime now and should be able to understand what is required to win consistently. Finishing 7th implies an inability to do that. Also given it would be a repeat of what Voss has achieved with this group over the past 3 years it is very good evidence he can’t get them to be consistent. It’s time this club delivered real the time for accepting mediocrity is over.

Dont care where Jack plays - he was missed big time in 2024 as was Docherty.
1000% agree....he's in my best 22 any day. Loves the contest and rarely if ever gets beaten one on one.

I still like him as the 3rd forward, but can see why we'll trial him down back. He'll contest every scrap like a junkyard dawg.

I like the option now of mixing and matching our forward line. Sometimes tall, sometimes small and sometimes in between

Harry can go to ruck, Charlie up the ground as can Kemp. TDK forward, Cripps forward, Moir inside 50. Then the mix of Motlop Durdin Williams Fogarty Elijah Docherty playing forward to having minutes on ball. Then there is pick 3

Love this. I am a big believer in maximising your list and what you have first. You can find gold if you are prepared to look and try things.

Kemp fwd/mid, Ollie to HB are just two examples

I think Jack to defence will be seen as a brilliant move 👍
I think he should stay forward, and that Kemp should be training up as a mid that rests forward, we can even use Jack to spell him in midfield.

Jack's form as a forward finally hit its peak just before injury took him out of the 2023 season.

Jack as a defender has been done before as a reactionary move by Voss, and his pace was shown up. They'll keep putting him as a deep defender and he will look silly, especially coming back from an ACL.

I'm all for having him train there as a backup to give our list flexibility and keep Kemp in attacking roles, but Jack is in my best 22 as a forward.

Not the entire reason last year was a bit of a disappointment, but it sure would help if the core group played most of the year uninjured.

So you would sack him then, with a year remaining on his contract, making finals 3 years in a row?

Yes, unpredictability for opponents is a good thing.

Bloody hell you would think these journos would check their own grammar before releasing these stories ....

It's bewildering....

Do you not see a difference in finishing runner up and constantly making top 4 versus finishing 7th in your 4th season?
On face value that makes sense- until one clears for home ground advantage, fixturing, bad luck with injuries and list comparisons...

still - Voss is on notice - no doubt about that in my mind - there is a new regime coming through by the end of this year.

Why waste another year of the core group’s prime years on a coach who by then would’ve had 4 years to implement a game plan and culture but has only managed to win 12-13 a season with a group that should be capable of much more.

It’s not like Fagan and Brisbane either. They were consistently winning 15+ games a season and finishing in the top 4. They just couldn’t get over the hurdle in finals. We have to win 15+ games and finish top 4 next year otherwise I think Voss should go.

Sorry Jack is gone after 2025 wait and see especially if Liam McMahon is taken in rookie spot as McMahon would likely be played over him if Mckay or Curnow injured. Silvagni may get another year if Harry O'Farrell or Gabriel Stumpf get to our last pick and McMahon isn't needed. Get over it Voss isn't playing Silvagni in defence it will not happen 100% you say Jack will never let us down and his teammates will trust him that means nothing when it comes to winning flags you need to be ruthless unfortunately Jack isn't Stephen. The amount of games he has played is a great effort for what he has achieved . I expect him to play 5-8 games at most if we have a full strength side and that being generous.

And whose to say the next coach would do any better?

There aren't as many assistants out there desperately wanting a senior coaching gig at the moment. It is a very demanding job, made harder by being literally blamed for everything.

Voss is going fine. He's not getting sacked anytime soon. I'd like to see the club show some back bone and stick with him.

McMahon and Ramshaw should be train on forget Durdin i think Duffy is contracted
S Durdin, M Carroll and Grainger-Barrass have all been committed to as train-ons already (if not drafted). There's likely to be one more train-on player that hasn't been announced. Duffy has been listed as a Cat-B player in an AFL published article, so reasonably safe to assume that is correct.

Good chance that McMahon gets either the fourth train-on spot, or a pick in the rookie draft. Ramshaw highly unlikely I'd have thought. Next best chance from our VFL side would be Will White.

McMahon is the 4th train-on player according to Ralph's article.
